Westminster to track with heavy bag then 16x400(60). Heavy legs and a few weeks since last track session so I worked my way through it, starting at 71/72 pace and moving to solid 66s for the last 6. Hoped to get a bit faster still for the last 3 but everything said no.

Strides at the end of a run always seem like a good idea until an hour into your run when you get a bit tired, and as such I rarely do them. Tonight I discovered the secret to getting them done: stop for a pint in the Free Press then smash out the efforts on Parker's Piece on the way home with legs feeling fresher. Reward yourself with a second pint in the Flying Pig.
