Circuits 20:00 [3]

R ankle/achilles stiff and tender, especially around the perroneal tendon. Hard running on tarmac isn't something I'm used to, so not really a surprise. A pity to miss out on a nice breezy rainy Sunday run, but circuits definitely the wiser choice.

Running 35:00 [4]

Road run at an increasing pace, finishing at full-on tempo. Out along GWR, right turn after Gartnavel (Dorchester Avenue, says Google), across the canal, up to Maryhill Road at the top of the locks (Cowal Road, says Google), and homeward as far as the fire station. Was going to jog home as a warm down but the R outer achilles was cramping up so played it safe and walked - it seems fine now after stretching.

Quite happy with the feeling when running at pace, which probably means I can't reach the speeds that would tire me out properly. Not that running fast is a priority right now, but more experiments of this kind should be useful if/when it becomes so.

Cycling 45:00 [4]

Out to Drumpellier on a fairly direct route via north Glasgow and Easterhouse. Pushing into a headwind, especially on the exposed sections. Very hot and sunny day, and spent half an hour or so ambling around the loch and woods at Drumpellier along with much of the surrounding population.

Return journey from Drumpellier via Muirhead and Auchinloch. Considerably longer route than on the way out, but a tailwind and lighter traffic meant it took an almost identical time.

Running 35:00 [3]

Decent effort over Hamiltonhill and some looping in Ruchill Park. Legs improved a good deal from yesterday, and didn't feel as if my calves would twang at any moment.

Around the park, slowly. Still quite stiff and tired from the weekend. Who'd have thought that running at a decent speed for 20 mins would take so much out of me...
