orienteering race (NOY6) 57:53 [4] *** 6.3 km (9:11 / km) +80m 8:38 / km
shoes: HH2

NOY 6 at Belford NP - Medium Hard course (nominal 5.9km)

This was my first "competitive" run here for quite a while - set courses last year for the first use of the map since c2005, & recognised a few control sites as either my alternatives or near sites from last year.

Didn't visit the south-western section last year because NPWS were doing a control burn there as well as weed spraying, so no map memory effects in that section of the course.

Did identify some areas needing updating or field-working, including possibly largest termite mound in area & it is not on the map!

Noted from AP splits that I didn't lose significant time because of mistakes, just being slow all round ;-p

walking (Coffs Harbour) 1:20:00 [1] 6.0 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: Pegasus

Coffs Harbour - Botanical Gardens/Fitzroy Oval/Showgrounds - scoping possible map area - looks good

orienteering race (Coffs Harbour) 12:32 [3] *** 1.4 km (8:57 / km) +15m 8:30 / km
shoes: HH2

OWL3 - (Orienteering without limits) - sprint race at CHEC - organised as exposure to orienteering for wheelchair athletes around campus area, with course set to utilise ramps and paved areas.

No warm-up, so for first couple of legs felt very stiff & awkward as no running through week, just lots of slow walk mapping in schools.
