biking 1:00:00 [3]

actually, i have no idea exactly how long I biked for, this is a rough estimate. With Sergei and Boris in Prospect Park, plus to and from. IT got really cold and fairly uncomfortable.

Running 40:00 [4]

ran with boris for first half to park where he ran off to do a loop and i ran back through brooklyn. second half felt really good, running with someone is sooo much easier!!
also walked ALL over the place again today.

Sunday Feb 23, 2003 #

Note

walked about 6 million miles all over manhattan. in heels. ow ow ow. lots of good speedy walking though.

Saturday Feb 22, 2003 #

Note

spent the entire day traveling from montreal to new york- first on the bus to white river junction, then with misha and boris to brooklyn. yesterday was getting ready to go, doing errands and stuff and then celebrating matt's mom's birthday.

snowboarding 3:00:00 [3]

have horrible cold, however was dragged out of bed by matt and pat and ended up having a really good time. way cheaper to ski here than in the US!

Running 30:00 [3]

didn't know the snow conditions (not so good) on the mountain, so decided to run instead. On doctor's orders, am supposed to get lots of cardio and record temp every night for a month to help w/ tiredness pblm.

ski-orienteering 51:00 [5]

ski-O champs short course race. MUCH better race than yesterday, made only one small error. However my speed was limited by physical contraints (having lost 5 pounds of muscle over the last year). next year watch out.

ski-orienteering 1:42:00 [5]

long course Ski-O champs. Was exhausted at end of first map, made HUGE error going out to first control that resulted in giant loss of time and need to plow through absolute slowest part of map 2 extra times. Didn't ski very fast b/c didn't know how fast others were going; will ski faster tomorrow (or give it more effort anyways).

Cross-Country Skiing 30:00 [2]

pathetic ski around soccer field with dog. am sick (cold, exhaustion) and have been neglecting to train and when i did train have forgotten to write down. so incomplete lately.

Sunday Feb 9, 2003 #

Note

it snowed last night but I feel horrendous- fever, achy, and a bad sore throat. Hoping to be better tomorrow to ski a little bit.

Cross-Country Skiing 20:00 [3]

okay, i know that is too short to be considered a workout, but you can barely ski here at all- it's icy and covered in gravel and salt. the weather's nice but the conditions are totally, utterly miserable. I just went because I REALLY wanted to. Time does not include mountaineering-style hike, carrying skis and poles, up to top of park where you can almost ski, using skis and poles as ice axes to haul myself up.

Running 38:00 [2]

running with poles on ice-covered trails. got a lot more of an arm workout than I thought I would, as well as more out of breath. definitely needed the poles, made one mistake where i decided to go up a lovely 45 degree slope and got stuck halfway up, afraid to move either foot or pole on a sheet of ice.

Tuesday Feb 4, 2003 #

Yoga 30:00 [1]

flexibility (hips and legs), stomach, back, and leg strength.

Monday Feb 3, 2003 #

Cross-Country Skiing 20:00 [2]

skating without poles with ruben. felt crummy all day but nice when outside. however arms are dead from lugging about 50lbs of groceries 8 blocks to my apt. and have a ton of reading to do tonight.

Sunday Feb 2, 2003 #

Cross-Country Skiing 1:15:00 [1]

could have been longer, i'm not really sure of the time. went with friend nicole who is not a skier, basically she was walking on her skis so I double poled on my skate skis at a very very slow poling rate. Up to beaver lake, around, through woods, back down. fun fun.

swimming 22:00 [2]

medley, would've gone longer but thought i was pissing matt off.
