Bush Orienteering race (NSW Long Champs) 58:38 [3] 6.0 km (9:46 / km)

"Astley's Tower East"
What a great weekend - another terrific map and course.
Started early and didn't see anyone.
Tired on occasions which is disappointing but expected and walked too much. Felt I navigated OK although perhaps not the optimum route choice sometimes, esp #10.
Once again felt really slow and cautious in the last loop and will be interesting to see how much time I lost on #14. Headed up to meet the track but was too far left and ended up in the terrible green parallel to the track :( Corrected and got it but certainly would have lost my 1st place to Linda here. How nice though, we both had a win, me by 20 secs yesterday, her by 5 secs today. We should be a team haha.
Great day. Nice to see the NSW juniors in their new Schools tops too.
Two days of solid orienteering in a row has been so good for me!!!!

Bush Orienteering (NSW Middle Champs) 41:04 [3] 4.28 km (9:36 / km)

"Blue Gum Hills"
Terrific to have another new map. Really enjoyed the course. Started early to be able to help at the finish and meet with my juniors so didn't see anyone much out there.
Being conscious of my lack of fitness at the moment I was really pleased with the result but disappointed in a relatively flat area to still have to walk. Lost bits of time on a few controls, probably most on #13, being way too low. Felt really slow in the final loop, perhaps exhaustion and also got a little surprised when I spotted a control not in the direction I was heading for #16 but it happened to be #16.
Once again a fantastic set of Denis Lyons courses.
Such an enjoyable day.
