Orienteering race (School Test Relay) 1:03:11 [4] 2.7 km (23:24 / km) +115m 19:18 / km

Was last leg runner for the Junior Girls and we were already one full leg ahead, which took some pressure off. Started the same time as Selena (NZ) and were together for the first 2 controls but then split at number 3 only to find out at the end that was had the same control, yet went completly different ways. Had alot of trouble with control 7, which was where there were big sand cliffs. I ended up taking 10 minutes on that control. To my amazment on the track before the spectator control I saw Selena out there still even though I thought she had finished. Relay team ended up winning, but didn't have the best run i could have had.

Warm Up/ Down 10:00 [3]

Ran around the assembly area as there weren't too many places you could go without going out of bounds. Also ran along a track down to the car park.

Orienteering race (Schools Test Individual) 40:26 [4] 2.82 km (14:20 / km)

Unusual walk to the start, but was very muddy, cold, wet and miserable. But ended up having my best run all week. At number 4 I caught Jula (NZ) and Selena (NZ) caught me and we ran together for some of the way. There was this massive area marked as open area with bits of green which was yucky. Caught up to Katie at number ten and had a strong run overall. Placing 3rd in the end.

Warm Up/ Down 15:00 [3]

Ran down to the start and did some stretching and then a slow jog back up to the creek.

Warm Up/ Down 15:00 [3]

Ran up to the start even though I was about to collapse because it was so hot. Had a lateish start time so it started to cool down by the time I started.

Orienteering race (Oceania Middle) 34:52 [4] 2.9 km (12:01 / km)

Caught the New Zealand girl in front of m at number 2 but stuffed up 6 and then the girl caught me back up as well as another New Zealand girl and rebekah. Was very open and basically a running race.

Warm Up/ Down 10:00 [3]

There was supposed to be a 10 minute walk to the start but it was more like a 2 minute walk. So ran back up the the track a few times and then around in the long grass.

Orienteering race (Oceania Long) 1:20:57 [5] 3.8 km (21:18 / km) +155m 17:42 / km

The start was awesome because after punching you had to cross this little stream which was just to wide to jump so you got your feet wet which was really refreshing, and cold. Took it slow to the first control and nailed it, although the New Zealand girl behind me caught up. The major confusion on control 3. Thought that I would stay down low and count the gullies but ended up miss counting and getting completly lost. Luckily Katie came and rescued me. On that leg ended up taking 17 minutes and 57 seconds. But my placing overall was 4th which was surprising.

Warm Up/ Down 20:00 [3]

Long warm up today. Ran down the road which lead into the event almost to the car park and back. Did a few stretches, but not that many. Was really nervous at the start.

Orienteering race (Oceania Relay) 42:19 [4] 2.5 km (16:56 / km)

This was the sandunes map and I was first runner in my relay consisting of Rebekah, Katie and myself. Had alot of trouble finding the first control and ended up taking 10 minutes 16. I really did not enjoy the first half of the map but once I was over the other side of the assembly area i really enjoyes the terrain. The last 2 controls were out on sandunes which lead to the beach, with no vegetation on top. The New Zealand team ended up beating s by one whole leg!!! : o

Warm Up/ Down 15:00 [3]

Ran between the start and where our bags were a few times with Jacqui and then before the start did some stretching.

Orienteering race (Oceania Sprint) 16:34 [4] 2.2 km (7:32 / km)

Had a good run. Caught Jacqui at the first control and we ran together basically for the rest of the course. Was happy with my navigation as i was planning ahead and looking at exit direction. Towards the end my navigation got quite sloppy which did cost me some time. New Zealand ovals are so awesome! Ended up coming 5th.
