Orienteering 28:54 [3] 2.1 km (13:46 / km)
Testing course B for next Sat. A few booms, tried some different routes, moved a few flags a bit. AOWN moment: Came face to face with a juvenile crow sitting on a branch. Got quite close. It appeared to have a bad wing, although I didn't stick around long enough to confirm. Anyway, he was sitting tight enough I believe I could have touched him, although I'm not that enamored of the idea of touching crows, so I let it go at that.
Orienteering 29:27 [3] 2.3 km (12:48 / km)
Test run on course A, some different routes. Difficult going in some pretty thick woods.
Note
AOWN report: had a little rogaine practice with my friend Tom, who was leading a field trip earlier in the day and was attacked by a ruffed grouse. The crafty Tom caught it with his bare hands. Story has a happy ending, as Tom practices catch-and-release, and the grouse apparently learned something from the experience and quit buzzing the kids.
