Note

A 2 hour drive to Mont Blanc but it was well worth it. 27c at the bottom (10.00AM), 11c at the middle station and -2c at the top station although in shorts and T shirt it felt like 5c. What a view from the top of the world (well it felt like it) I felt a bit ill due to the altitude, I think, but the views were stunning.

Orienteering race 2:13:45 [5] 6.0 km (22:18 / km) +295m 17:54 / km
shoes: Jalas

La Grande Teppe - I stood on the start line and it belted it down for the next three hours! de ja vu! I fell down a hole and luckily was wearing my Camelbak which took the worse of the fall protecting my back but it still hurt. I spent most of the time looking at my feet and not where I was going. The meadow was very easy but the forest very tough.

Orienteering race 2:12:52 [5] 4.6 km (28:53 / km) +255m 22:37 / km
shoes: Jalas

Les Gouilles - I stood on the start line and it started to rain at 7:50 in the morning. (We were up at 5 as we were every day, some holiday!) The first 3 were fairly easy then disaster at 4 as I spent a good 7 - 8 minutes searching every knoll in the area without any luck and eventually found it. Things got worse at 7 on a down hill leg with every thing looking similar 10 - 12 minutes wasted. All then went well until 10 where I ended up going out to the road and coming back in three times from a turning circle and still couldn't find it 15 minutes wasted. It was a tough start to the week.
