Bombed the first two controls before I got in a rhythm. I was happy with it after that, even though it was not perfect. I went most of the way to #2 before I realized I needed to punch #1 first, which was on the trail just 30 meters from the start. Embarrassing. Do I have a A-meet curse?

Totally blew up on #8, otherwise a good run on a very fun sprint course. I really wish I wouldn't have flown totally off the map like a crazed antelope, but these things happen when I run beyond my current fitness level. Looking back, I will remark that I was able to explore a rather scenic portion of the unmapped "map". Perhaps next year we will race in that area I now know so well?
This was great fun. I don't have the sprinting legs many of the fast guys do, and bobbled by heading to #7 instead of #6, then back to #6 and then finally to #7. The fast guys really smoked this one. Hats off to Andy, Biz, Pete and Andrei.
Another win. Brings us to 11-4. Sochi inches closer and closer. Will my pie-in-the-sky aspirations become reality? We'll find out in 2013 at national qualfiers...

Almost forgot about this! After leaving the gym I spied Mike and Julia, running along American Boulevard, I quickly pulled into the nearest side street, stripped off my jacket and ran a half mile or so talking to them about the day's goings on. Fun to see friends in the neighborhood!
