Orienteering 2:30:00 [4]

US Long O champs. Very Long! Overall did fairly well, just gradually ran out of steam, legs cramping a bit and walking on and off the last few km's and just hanging in to finish. Technically not bad, tended to go too straight and had a few legs where I ran out of contact for longish stetches before catching myself again, not as efficient as I'd have liked.

Note

Overall pleased with the weekend's orienteering. Gradually fighting off the bug all week, hard to race after that but at least I was able to give it a good shot. Technically not bad, so if the legs continue to get stronger there are good races ahead. It was a fun weekend, good courses and challenging. That's what it's all about!

Orienteering 35:00 [5]

US Short O Champs near Watertown NY. Sprint in the AM went well, felt the chest with intense breathing but it was over in 9 minutes so no real problem. The PM was OK too, but had a hard time getting the pace back, bobbled the first couple of controls then settled down. Lacking speed overall but relatively pleased with the result. 7th in AM, 9th in PM, 8th overall one second back of 7th.

Running 15:00 [2]

warmups, including some fast running.

Running 45:00 [2]
(sick)

Ran at Bronte, steady pace. Getting stronger each day but slowly, legs very heavy and chest hurting on hills and speed. Fingers crossed for the weekend.

Orienteering 30:00 [3]
(sick)

First ever O cross at Kings Forest with GHO Canada GHO. Bailed out early and ran my own pace, pain in chest on hills and fast running.

Running 50:00 [1]
(sick)

Met the Boyz at Chedoke, they did intervals, I did a light jog. Very much under the weather, phlegmy throat, legs very weak. Felt a little better after the run though, so I still have hope for the weekend.
