To the Fells for an evening run. Parked at Flynn Rink because I didn't want to have to hunt for a space along South Border Rd. Downside is that I'm not as familiar with the trails on the east side, so I had no idea when I decided to make it easy and "just follow the white blazes" that it was a pretty gnarly trail. I guess it's like the mini-Skyline.

It was fun and pretty, though I had to walk and scramble a little more than I'd planned, and it was taking a very long time. Eventually I realized I would not have enough daylight left to finish the loop. I asked myself, "what would Ian do?" and did the opposite.

Not sure my spidey-senses were fully functional tonight but I did eventually make it back, just around sunset. A successful outing for my tired body.

Got to thinking about my feeble, fickle, female mind and whether it was capable of maintaining any strongly held opinions for a long time. Much to my relief I was able to come up with a few during my shower. I will share them here:

- Dogs are gross
- Chocolate is overrated and does not belong in bread products
- Baths are for children; adults should not bathe in their own filth
- Oxford commas are wonderful
- We should support the most vulnerable in our society and make sure everyone has at least a safety net
- Soccer is boring
- Impressionist paintings are aesthetically displeasing

Hiking 45:00 [1] 2.5 mi (18:00 / mi)

We successfully camped last night in my parents' backyard. Lukas took advantage of many things - rocks to climb on, a sprinkler, desserts by mormor... Most of my parents' property is sloped or steeply sloped, but there is a beautiful mossy patch directly behind the garage that was perfect for the tent. It also meant easy access to the basement bathroom, which they never use. Mormor cooked us dinner and delivered it out to the back patio and provided us with many essentials for our camping stove breakfast this morning, so it was all fairly luxurious.

In the afternoon we went to Assabet for a walk with mormor while Lukas rode his bike. I thought it would be the perfect place for him to practice riding along a road, instead of in circles around a basketball court or short bursts along the sidewalk. And it was! I think he really enjoyed it.

Continue to be blown away at how quickly he's picked up this pedal bike stuff. He gets started on his own most of the time now, uses the hand brake, pedals and (sometimes) coasts, and usually comes to a controlled stop without falling. His falls seem to correlate more with trying to start than trying to stop. Still plenty of awkwardness to iron out, but I think we could probably go for a short outing together where I run and he rides. Wouldn't be very long, though, he wasn't quite up to riding all ~2.5 miles of our loop today. Super fun, though and a nice, cooler day, too.

It's been more than 72 hours since my last sign of fever and the covid test came back negative (unsurprising result, surprisingly fast), so I left the house for a run. Waited until evening and went to the Fells for some greenery and solitude. A lot more people on the road today and the parking lots were a little more full than they have been at that time.

Running was a bit of a chore. Not much energy, and I meant to keep the run a little shorter but my spidey-sense navigation wasn't good enough for total accuracy. Very nice to be out, though.

Tomorrow we are considering camping in my parents' yard.

Today and yesterday I wrote a lot of dumb things on AP. I need to stop that.
