Beacon Hill EML Middle Race (Brown)

Not the best of runs and physically quite tired. After a reasonable start was a bit off line to #5 (~20s) but OK up until #13. Then made a succession of small mistakes. Not the best of routes to #14 and then a very bad bearing to #15, ended up relocating off #16 (1min). Another mistakes to #17 which I found strange and took longer than anticipated to get there so stopped early and had to relocate (~45s), don't think it was quite in the right place. Got #18 ok but route was perhaps not the best. Struggled to find #19 which I think was on an adjacent unmapped narrow marsh/ditch. Plod to the end.

Birchen Edge EML - Brown

Fairly uneventful run, steady, felt a bit ploddy but pretty clean and I quite like this area. Only disappointing thing was that the trickiest area in the west of the map used controls which could be seen from about 500m away (#5 and 6). Had an early run too so had the worst of the tussocks. First time I have really put the new Str8 compass to the test and did find it easier to get a good straight line than with the silver compass.

Bramcote Hills - EML Brown

Nice blast round and felt stronger than I normally do up the hills, which I quite enjoyed. Really chilly morning even though it was sunny. Some rustiness particularly early on but was struggling to pick up the overprint which was quite faint. Didn't really get to test using the new Str8 compass much. Threshold pretty low still but the better week of running was evident.
