Orienteering Competion 53:04 [3] 4.62 km (11:29 / km) +144m 9:56 / km
spiked:10/11c shoes: VJ Supra

24h-OL, 4. and last run, SEN4, 3,2km, 130hm
And finally a run when it was cooler. Got the first leg without a headlamp and enjoyed running in the early morning forest very much. Still slow and hiking lots in the first half, then - after finishing the last long climb and reaching 7 - I finished the run and the competition with a nice little bit of fast flat orienteering :)
Orienteering was good most of the time, one big mistake where I blame the map.
Details:
To 6) Was following the path uphill, then climbing for a while in the deep ditch. Leaving the ditch somewhere after the curve, going in the general direction of the control having in mind that I would see the path and the clearing along the upper curve of the path, which would lead me to the control. In reality I was passing a few meters downhill from the control, seeing neither of those (that's where I blame the map) then at some point realizing that I may be wrong or to far and suddenly seeing a control at a lone tree downhill from me. Run there, only to find it was the wrong control, looked for other lone trees on the map near mine and re-located, realizing that I'm far too much downhill now and must have passed near the control before. Found the control fine on a compass bearing from there, but even on the second try didn't see path or clearing. 6 min. on an otherwise clear run, damn :(
Total mistakes: 6 min, 11,3%

24h-OL:
Ugly forest, much to much trees in it ;) Too many thickets and rubbish on the ground for my taste, making running really hard. In combination with the climb it costed a lot more strenght than in a nice open forest - so this was maybe the hardest 24-h-OL I was running. But fun anyway and my team of beginners (3) and untrained people (2) was better then expected :)
22 legs and nearly made it 23 (about 2 min. too late) with 3 people doing their first ever orienteering competition in the team...
9 AM

Orienteering Competion 1:26:21 [3] **** 6.44 km (13:25 / km) +171m 11:50 / km
spiked:9/12c shoes: VJ Supra

24h-OL, First run, SD1, 4,97km, 160 hm

Orienteering was OK to good, apart from a big mistake to the last control.
But was still much slower than expected, because of the bad runability - was walking much more than I hoped for and still tired in the end.
Details:
to 2: Conturing through the thicket from 1 to 2, had a bit of a problem with estimating the distance and wasn't sure if I would see the clearing, so slowed down to early because I was insecure. 45s?
To 3: Climb, climb, climb. But spiked the control.
To 9: Bad direction leaving 8, stayed far to much left. 1 min?
To 10: Hated that leg, because the marsh in the thicket was super bad to run, bad there was really no alternative route :( But spiked the control
To 11: Lots of climb. Slow, but spiked.
To 12: Lost direction when leaving 11, then when I hit the reentrant got confused and thought I may be already at the reentrant leading to the control and missed crossing the big path. And instead of just making sure where I am and run a few meters to the top and see if the paths there, I started to guess - wrongly of course - and made silly loops in the thicket. 4 min.
About 5:45 mistakes, 6,66%

Orienteering Competion race 1:23:01 [3] **** 6.22 km (13:21 / km) +190m 11:35 / km
spiked:6/11c shoes: VJ Supra

Second run, SD4, 4,35km, 180hm
Course seemed to be a bit nicer than the first one on the map. In theory... the praxis had a few not so nice surprises for me :(
Running was again a lot of walking and a bit of running. Well, team name was Slowmotion, so that was fine ;)
Details:
To 1) Easy enough and pace OK for the climb.
To 2) First of the bad surprises.Plan was to attack the control from the tree trunks at the path, but the level 2 thicket was more level 3 and I wasn't able to go through it at all (yes, I'm too fat obviously ;) ). Ended up fighting through it whereever it was possible and making a big detour. From the attackpoint to the control it took me 4:30. Should have gone around and along the clearing, would have saved at least 3 min.
To 4) Seems like I was going much farther left and more in the thicket than planned. Didn't realize it or forgot it. But looking at the speed I should have been at least 1 min. faster on a better route.
To 5) Missed the control by a few meters and took a while to find it. 2 min.
To 7) The surprise I hated most. Wanted to climb more directly, but got stopped by the windfall which was much larger than mapped. 2:30 and some unnecesary climbing
To 8) And I nicely hidden small tree trunk in the thicket which I didn't see. 1:15
Total mistakes: 9:45, 11,75%
11 PM

Orienteering Competion 1:08:24 [3] 5.09 km (13:26 / km) +166m 11:33 / km
spiked:9/11c shoes: VJ Supra

24h-OL, 3. Lauf, SDN2, 3,66km, 175hm
Still damned warm in the forest, had hoped for a cooler third run. Not fitter than on the first two, but also not too worse for wear. Was running nearly the same speed than before, but still too much hiking.
Orienteering:
To 1) Didn't realize after getting the map that the path to the left was beginning already at the map tent. Lost 1:30 there running in the wrong direction searching for it.
To 4) Very insecure about direction and distance in the end. Then stood a few meters away from the control on a marshy point thinking I'm already at the marsh and no control there, got even more confused, than saw the control reflecting when changing the lamp to the highest setting. 2 min
Total mistakes: 3:30, 5,1% - Yes, I'm obviously better at night than at day ;)
