Note

Where I went yesterday (track starts at the 4-way trail jct). I jogged some on the trail between 11 and 5L, but not much otherwise as I was loaded down a bit more than I would have been during the Billygoat.

Had trouble, again (as during vetting), with the downed trees in the big reentrant leading up to 6.

10 AM

Pilates class 55:00 [1]

Good class using bands. The band I purchased at Target broke (about 4" off the end). It was already too short. Not recommended. Legs tired after so only did pulldowns and adductors.

Exerc. Class 50:00 [1]

I actually felt energetic for this class; more "rest" days, maybe, though close to 8 hours on my feet yesterday is a bit out of my ordinary practice.

Tooth crown installed; now preparing for one more trek up to Moreau to retrieve the western controls (5L-11), since it's going to be such a nice day.
3 PM

Hiking (uphill) 26:59 [3] 1.6 km (16:52 / km)
shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 2

At Moreau. I took the trail up to the A-meet day 1 start (G/R/B) to get a start on picking up controls from the western portion of the Billygoat.

Orienteering (control pickup) 1:53:33 [2] **** 5.12 km (22:11 / km)
spiked:7/7c shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 2

Getting from four-way trail junction around to 7 controls and back. Headed out to 9-10-11 first to get the most climb done earlier, then over to 5L-6-7-8. Time includes stops at a few of the controls to untie flag, pull out stake, etc; at others I stopped my watch and then restarted. Usually this was when I took off my pack for longer than typical, or to take a few pictures. :-)

Stopped the watch at the water control. Took 15-20 minutes to pick up the cups and gel packets (and their tops), and to empty 5 of the gallon jugs that weren't used (better too much than too little water there, but I certainly wasn't going to haul any down the hill). Special thanks to the few people who actually put their trash into the bags. ;-)
6 PM

Hiking (downhill) 22:28 [2] 1.67 km (13:27 / km)
shoes: Trail NB 706 9D # 2

Back to the car. Same route as on the way up so not sure why 70m longer. :-)

10 AM

Pilates class 55:00 [1]
slept:7.0

Used exercise balls, but didn't do rollups with them.
11 AM

Fitness equipment (elliptical) 36:00 [3]
shoes: Sauc.Shad.6000#7-2012H

Regular hill program. Tried my usual machine, but the touchpad buttons weren't responding, so I switched (did I do that?). Started out to do 45 min, but an outer shin muscle was complaining, and my feet were tingly/numb-like (front half of the foot). I haven't decided if it's the shoes, the socks, or something else.
1.62 mi
Then adductors (2 sets of 12@70#) and pulldowns (10@62.5#)

Note

Mistrial!

Defense lawyer error. It was fascinating to listen to and talk with the Assistant DA after we were released re: what could they add or what angle or evidence they can pursue to make the retrial a stronger case (basically, what questions we had that weren't covered by the evidence presented). Defendant goes back to jail to await a new attorney, and a new trial date (and new jury).
