Navigated far better than yesterday, with only a couple of small misses until the last couple of controls. Coming out of 8 I should have kept further East and come over the spur more and to 10 I missed about 30secs running up the wrong reentrant. Last but one was termite mound and bit off

Last control found the boulders, didn't find the control, lost confidence and ran back up the crag to make sure I was in the right place and wasn't missing something. Ran back down to where I started only to find the control was slightly hidden. It was the right boulder but the other ones were huge and the one it was on was underneath the undergrowth and a tree and hard to spot. Pretty annoying to lose 5/6 mins on the last control.

I was just awful. Totally missed no3, too high and relocated badly (not helped by finding the right bit of green but still not seeing the boulder hidden in the middle of it). 4-5-6-7 ok, though slow 6-7 through the really thick supposedly white bush. 7-8 total disaster - somehow managed to turn my map round and make a 180 degree error and went a good few 100m on my bearing before noticing. Went back to 7 and second time round did the leg ok. 8-9 slow going but somehow screwed up when I got near the control ended up off bearing on the road north. 10 ok but missed 11 and then lost another 10m or so on 12 - just didn't see it and then there wasn't a lot to go on.

Not really a middle race more like a long without the last couple of k, but not sure why my brain was somewhere else.

Bit of a mistake. Feeling a little ropey so to take it easy went with the slow group. Meant to be 6k/min pace but actually a fair bit slower (until I led the last k for half the group). Went home feeling a bit like I needed to go for a run.
