Terrain test. 41:49. Very similar to spring last year except marsh slower. Still a long way behind what I used to do (2001-2007), slower on every section by 5-10%... Need to look again at this

Orienteering race 48:00 [3]

NM relay. 2nd leg. Started in 44th. Poor route to 1 and missed 2 a bit (just like lots of others on the gps, something was very odd there). Settled down a bit and pushed hard on the long leg to get us up to 24th. A few more problems and I came through the spectator control at the back of a big pack from about 20th to 32nd. Missed an arboreal oddity on the last loop and was passed by another 10 teams :-( Not pleased with my focus into controls.

NM Middle qualifier. Started carefully and got the first 5. Then went away from my simple leg plan and got very confused with an unmapped boulder. Saw my 2 minute man obviously having left the control:-( Caught him 3 controls later and raced hard to finish 10 seconds off qualifying :-(

NM Long. Saw this as a good chance this autumn - and took it pretty well. Happy with my routes and execution. Ran ok to the finish. 16th place, equal to my best ever.

Interesting terrain - like a bit of Japan in Norway (with small vegetation changes - no bamboo grass or paddy fields).
