Orienteering race 57:00 [4]

Tiomila, 4th leg(! - not a traditional brits leg and my first time in the depth of the night). Moved from 7th leg on Friday. Not done much night preparation but looked forwards to it. Set out in the lead pack after a great start by BSK. Ran hard and fairly alone - unsure if I was ahead or behind since had a different start. Made a 1' error at 5 through a parallel error - not focussed enough on way to attack, a couple of small control errors (one description) and a couple of poor lines. Also took a couple of safer routes as planned. All in all a good night race under the circumstances and great to feel the adrenaline again. Still a bit disappointed to be so distanced by the leaders.

Rest of the team did a great job - especially Carl on last who reminded us we have a guy who could win for us if we give him the chance. 6th is our best for many years (since the emit nightmare of 2002).

Test - Vo2 and lactate. Better result than December - ,5km/h on vvo2 and about the same on threshold. No change in efficiency from what I can see (hoping for given the changes in style), mainly processing lactate better?
