Running warm up/down 20:00 [3] 1.0 km (20:00 / km)
shoes: Yellow Swoops

Ran up the road back to the buses and general jogging, some sprints and then some drills.

Jogged to buses and back.

Orienteering race 1:06:29 [4] 6.0 km (11:05 / km) +240m 9:14 / km

Scottish Relays.
Many lessons learned. A really good experience for me. Set out in the lead, something I wasn't comfortable with, pressure on as Lorna (coach) and then Janine were going to be coming out close behind me both being very experienced much better orienteers than me. They did a good bit of winding me up before I set off but tried to go out with a plan. First leg wasn't easy and as a mass start had just went off got dragged away a bit too fast and went straight which was totally wrong. Relocated and found the control and saw Lorna coming on the way out. Then had a plan for two but didn't use it as was going too fast and another big mistake, on 3 shouldn't have went through the green, 4 went too high, Lorna caught me again. Then ran past 5 and Janine caught me. Calmed down a bit then. Janine and I took differnt routes but stayed together, she got away but I caught Lorna at 10. Then I orienteered! Hit 11 when Janine missed it and got away from them both. Deicded to not increase the pace as knew I was a lot faster anyway and just think about the orienteering. No mistakes from here on in and came in really happy to win for EUOC. Really really pleased.

Really good situation, pressure etc was what I needed. Learned a lot.

Scottish Champs
Much steadier than of late. Still not completely satisfied though but this going slower thing is just something I am going to have to do right now. Duff route to two, slight miss of 6 even though had a good attackpoint. Pathed it on 8, thought through might have been quicker but it was a risk and I didn't have to confidence. Through was quicker. Really hesitant through next few controls but got them fine, too low on 11, felt the vegetation pulling me that way though so was able to relocate. Then couldn't believe it was basically over, hard run through the fields, let myself go a bit too fast being too high on 2nd last control.
More positive but still a lot to improve on:).

Running warm up/down 20:38 [3] 3.0 km (6:53 / km)
shoes: Yellow Swoops

Up into Lanton via the road and back via the field.

Running tempo 10:00 [4] 2.0 km (5:00 / km)
shoes: Yellow Swoops

Easier pace before the weekend. Struggle to go slow enough for 10:00 which was the aim like last time but was helped by 10ish stupid horses in the way causing me to stop.

Running tempo 9:51 [4] 2.0 km (4:56 / km)
shoes: Yellow Swoops

2nd Lanton loop, pace knocked off a bit after thinking i'd lost time at horses so first half was far too fast, cruised second but still fast. Legs feeling a lot better at the end.

Note

Working 7:30-5:30 Mon-Thu, finish at 3 on a Friday so thinking about when I can get to the gym I used at easter. Will contact the guy after the weekend. Want to keep it in but as it's not in the town need time to get there.

Orienteering 40:25 [3] 4.5 km (8:59 / km)
shoes: Yellow Swoops

Collected in controls from the event in the Eildons since couldn't get there quick enough from work to run a course. Legs sore so good ease off.

Running warm up/down 13:31 [3] 1.5 km (9:01 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2150

With the harirers down to Netherdale overflow car park.

After back from Tesco. Ran with Karen as they warm down really fast.

Running tempo 48:46 [4] 9.5 km (5:08 / km)
shoes: Asics GT-2150

Long fartleck session. Long reps with short rests jogging back to meet the group, very tough, more intensity 5 towards the end. Really tough again having to hang on to the fast men infront. Shorter rests and the people behind got too cut off. Really pushed towards the end especially on the hills. Good session.
