Running 1:08:58 [3] 6.0 mi (11:30 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 295-v2

Saturday trails with TREX. Nice group. Wish I could have stuck with everyone longer. Definitely a little run down still. And the knee bothered me on the more aggressive downhills. But, all said, not a bad short Saturday run.

Friday Mar 29, 2013 #

Walking 25:30 [3] 2.2 mi (11:35 / mi)
shoes: Inov8 Roclite 295-v2

Braes loop. Felt pretty decent. Certainly better than the day before...

Thursday Mar 28, 2013 #

Running 23:26 [3] 2.0 mi (11:43 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Quitter's route. Total system failure. Everything hurt. I mean absolutely everything. Legs like concrete and less-than-zero motivation. Basically bailed like a pussy.

Running 34:51 [3] 4.4 mi (7:55 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann-Rice short. Lunchtime "sneak away" run to test the knee. Pretty much felt fine while running. A little cranky on the cool-down walk though. Still, as long as it doesn't hurt while running, I'll keep running.

Monday Mar 25, 2013 #

Note
(rest day)

A nagging case of runner's knee made this a good choice for a zero day.

Sunday Mar 24, 2013 #

Running 1:08:53 [3] 6.9 mi (9:59 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295

Huntsville SP. Spur-of-the-moment decision to head up to Huntsville, as every nice day may be the last for a long time. A little weary to start, but everything came around fine until the knee started nagging on the more aggressive downhills around the backside. Otherwise, a lovely little jaunt in the park. Route from Nature Center: Chinquapin to Amy's to Chinquapin to Enchanted Loop across dam to Triple C Cutoff to CCC to Chinquapin.

Hiking 52:16 [3] 3.0 mi (17:25 / mi)
shoes: Inov-8 Roclite 295

Huntsville SP after the run. Loaded up the pack with sleeping bag, pad, tent, fly, and a gallon of water - total weight 16.5 lbs. - to get a sense of how it rode with some weight in it. Would like to have hiked a bit more, but the knee was tweaky and I was getting hungry (got too late a start). Pack felt really good overall - made no adjustments. Of course, with another gallon of water and assorted other necessities, this may not be the case.

Saturday Mar 23, 2013 #

Running 58:33 [3] 7.4 mi (7:55 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Braes/Hermann-Rice short/Braes. Very solid mid-morning run. Kept the pace consistent and honest without overdoing it.

Friday Mar 22, 2013 #

Walking 26:07 [3] 2.0 mi (13:03 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue

Braes loop. Rather than take a true zero day, I decided to have a brisk walk first thing in the morning to keep everything loose.

Thursday Mar 21, 2013 #

Running 48:45 [3] 6.0 mi (8:08 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann-Rice short. Given that this one was on a short turnaround, it was pretty solid. Was able to keep the pace super consistent (albeit on the conservative side). Hopefully, this can be the start of some general consistency (knock on wood).

Wednesday Mar 20, 2013 #

Running 40:56 [3] 5.2 mi (7:52 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann + Braes. Wouldn't say the legs were excessively lively, but the definitely weren't tree-trunk dead as they have been lately. Everything felt okay. Lovely weather didn't hurt.

Monday Mar 18, 2013 #

Running 38:17 [3] 4.4 mi (8:42 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann loop. Covered a little over 4 miles and the back wasn't a problem. That pretty much does it for the "positives." Legs were absolutely leaden. Had no energy. Felt old & slow. Decided to go with 8/2s until I'm confident that the back is good again. Oh, and, it was kinda warm out. A reminder that I frittered away almost all the good weather over the last months either injured or lazy. Bleh.

Saturday Mar 16, 2013 #

Walking 41:25 [3] 3.0 mi (13:48 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Braes + Hermann short. Mostly walking, but with some promising little nuggets of slow running. Back got better as things warmed up. Still a noticeable lack of pep in the legs, but things are definitely heading in the right direction.

Walking 40:33 [3] 3.0 mi (13:31 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Same as the morning, but in the opposite direction. A bit more running. Warm, breezy early-spring afternoon.

Wednesday Mar 13, 2013 #

Running 40:48 [3] 5.2 mi (7:51 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann + Braes loop. Back at this morning. Things felt pretty solid overall. Will get back out there tomorrow then take Friday off & give the ankle a day's rest before the weekend.

Tuesday Mar 12, 2013 #

Running 33:18 [3] 2.5 mi (13:19 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Braes long loop. Test of the ankle. Feels pretty good. About 1/3 of this one was running. Think I'm ready to start back up tomorrow.

Running 13:33 [3] 1.0 mi (13:33 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Grit

Trails. Didn't make it 5 minutes in before I folded the living crap out of my left ankle. First bad sprain in a long time. Totally sucks. Just as I start to get a little consistency...

Thursday Mar 7, 2013 #

Running 51:12 [3] 6.6 mi (7:45 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann-Rice short + Braes loop. Felt pretty solid this morning, so a little lagniappe was in order.

Wednesday Mar 6, 2013 #

Running 46:18 [3] 5.8 mi (7:59 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann-Rice short. Pretty solid run overall on a chilly morning. Legs weren't exactly lively, but turned over okay. Most positive thing about the run: no calf or knee pain.

Tuesday Mar 5, 2013 #

Running 40:15 [3] 5.1 mi (7:54 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann + Braes loop. A little post-day-off lethargy this (humid) morning. Managed to keep an honest pace, but it wasn't fun.

Sunday Mar 3, 2013 #

Running 54:57 [3] 6.0 mi (9:10 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Grit

Sunday trails. Endless/Green out and back. Wouldn't say the legs felt great, but they didn't feel terrible either. Lovely day with lots of users on the trails. Managed a decent time even though it felt like I was moving very slowly.

Saturday Mar 2, 2013 #

Running 1:14:07 [3] 7.0 mi (10:35 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Grit

Saturday trails with Chris. Nice chilly morning jaunt in the Ho. Legs generally felt pretty good, but not a bunch of pep otherwise. Some nagging tendonitis in the left knee too.

Friday Mar 1, 2013 #

Running 41:07 [3] 5.2 mi (7:54 / mi)
shoes: Pure Connect - Electric Blue 2

Hermann + Braes loop plus. Pretty chilly morning. Took a bit to warm up & the legs didn't feel all that great, but it wasn't a horrible run.
