Running 3:30:00 [3] 16.7 mi (12:34 / mi)
shoes: NB MT790(3)

Huntsville State Park trails with TREX. Really good long run. Crapped out the last two miles, which is what I wanted - gotta start pushing the envelope a bit.

Running 47:24 [3] 5.5 mi (8:37 / mi)
shoes: Asics Hyperspeed

Hermann - Rice short. Really solid run. Felt strong the entire time. Actually enjoyed it. Maybe the off day helped. Maybe it was the mild weather (heat index only 91). Who knows. I'll take it. Metatarsal bruise okay much of the way, but started to ache late in the run.

Note
(rest day)

Big morning thunderstorms convinced me that this would be a good day to rest the metatarsal bruise.

Running 29:15 [3] 3.2 mi (9:08 / mi)
shoes: Asics Hyperspeed

Hermann loop. Total systems failure. Cut the planned 6.2 short. Most pressing issue is a painful bruise under the 3rd metatarsal. Hyperspeeds' minimal cushioning doesn't help. Even without that, probably would have bailed. No energy in this weather. I loathe it. Once Becs is off to camp, may have to move my runs to the end of the day.

Running 49:38 [3] 5.5 mi (9:01 / mi)
shoes: Asics Hyperspeed

Hermann - Rice short. One of those special Houston summer mornings. Temp: 80. Wind: 0. Heat index: 95 (really). Pure misery. Didn't realize I could produce that much sweat. Started off feeling fine but died half way through. Horrendous stuff. Just have to remind myself that every run has value.

Running 1:03:41 [3] 6.0 mi (10:37 / mi)
shoes: NB MT100

Trails - Endless Loop x2 and Green. Oppressive heat - no breeze whatsoever. The MT100s were okay. May make their way into the rotation. Saw a huge turtle on the Green trail.
