Running 27:22 [3] 3.3 mi (8:18 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann loop plus. A mistake to test the foot. First half of the run was okay, the second half wasn't. Time to shut it down for a couple of weeks. If I can't get past this issue, Miwok won't happen. And if I keep running on it, it's simply not going to get any better.

Running 45:29 [3] 5.5 mi (8:16 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara #2

Hermann-Rice short. Dear Kinvaras, do you forgive me? I admit that I strayed, tempted by the flashy younger girl. Please have me back. I need you and your non-foot-hurting goodness. The switch to the Kinvaras made a huge difference with the metatarsal pain. The first 4.5 miles were pretty much pain free. A bit of ache over the last mile, but I'll take that. Otherwise, I felt very strong (and happy) the entire run. Forced day off because of work travel is a good thing.

Running 25:48 [3] 3.2 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann loop. After 5 more days off, it was time to test the foot with an after-work run. Typically, it doesn't hurt by the end of the day, and the start of the run was fine. Maybe 3/4 of a mile in, there was so tenderness though. By about 2 miles, it hurt and I was frustrated by the thought that this would be hard to shake. But a quarter mile later, it was better. Then it ached. Then it was okay. Very odd. By the end of the run, it felt fine. What does this mean? Don't know. Pretty sure it means there's no fracture. My guess is that it's metatarsalgia. Going to stretch out to a 5.5 miler tomorrow, this time in the Kinvaras. We'll see how that goes.
