Running 1:44:33 [3] 10.5 mi (9:57 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Saturday mixed route with Chris. A little bit of everything this morning. Foot hurt basically from the start and the legs didn't have much life, but just decided to suck it up for what turned out to be an okay run. Other than the foot, very solid week.

Running 45:40 [3] 5.5 mi (8:18 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara 2

Hermann-Rice short. Intent was for a relaxed, easy run this morning. And that's what it was until about 1.5 miles in when my left foot suddenly started hurting like a m-f (same metatarsal pain). Tried to walk it off. Toyed with the idea of turning around. Finally just sucked it up and finished the run. Pain didn't resolve, but didn't get any worse. Hopefully it will chill out today and be okay for tomorrow.

Running 52:16 [3] 6.4 mi (8:10 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann-Rice long GW. Weatherwise, not quite so bad this morning. Couple degrees cooler, a little less humid, and a pleasant breeze. It didn't do much for the legs early on, as they felt pretty lifeless. They perked up just a little bit on the second half. All in all, not a bad run.

Running 44:22 [3] 5.5 mi (8:04 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara 2

Hermann-Rice short. After reading a post about speed work by Ian Torrence, I decided to give one of his workouts a shot. 1.5 mile warm up (in this heat, warming up happens in 1.5 minutes), followed by 2 x 10 mins. at half-marathon/85% effort pace (3 minute jog between), remainder at cool-down pace. The first pick up was good, although maybe a bit hard. By 3-4 mins into the second one, I was starting to redline because of the heat. Ended up substituting a couple of shorter pick ups instead. Not quite in shape to do this one yet in this heat. Maybe in a few weeks.

Running 52:18 [3] 6.4 mi (8:10 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann-Rice long plus. Feet and back were a-ok today. But the legs felt heavy throughout. Not exactly tired, but just not all that lively. Still, the pace was fine and I battled through another morning of wretched humidity. Summer's here and it's time to suck it up.

Running 51:34 [3] 6.2 mi (8:19 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara 2

Hermann-Rice long. Soupy morning run. The left foot was an issue intermittently, but it didn't get any worse as the run progressed. Back was a bit achy, but not bad. Otherwise, it was a fine (albeit really sweaty) jaunt.

Walking 35:00 [3] 2.5 mi (14:00 / mi)
shoes: Brooks Pure Connect

Hermann. Started out running, but not quite a mile in, my left foot started hurting like a m-f. Metatarsalgia sort of pain. Decided to shut it down and just walk (which didn't hurt at all). May go out for a second walk later.

Walking 43:55 [3] 2.7 mi (16:16 / mi)
shoes: Kinvara 2

Mid-afternoon, heat-of-the-day walk. Definitely a scorcher. Glad I wasn't running.
