Running 6:35:36 [3] 31.0 mi (12:46 / mi) +2000ft 12:02 / mi
shoes: Altra Olympus

Hell's Hills. Pretty much ideal weather - cool/mild and overcast throughout. Probably had a faster time in my legs, which felt reasonably strong all day. But I got stuck behind a long, slow conga line at the start, and didn't really have enough motivation to move around so many people early in the race and in the dark. The major issue was a very (as in VERY) sore left foot after about mile 6. Probably a neuroma issue, although there's a pretty apparent callous in that spot as well. In any case, it brought me to a walk quite a few times, and made the numerous little steep uphills miserable. That said, it still wasn't a bad day.

Running 48:16 [3] 5.8 mi (8:19 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice short. Just needed to get through this morning before a couple of planned zero days ahead of HH. Well, didn't quite happen, as an obese woman with headphones inexplicably moved to her left as I was about to sneak by what little part of the path wasn't occupied by her enormous ass. This forced me onto the dirt border where my left foot found a nice depression and promptly folded. Grrrrrrr. Not a super-serious sprain, and not something that I think will endanger HH. But it'll be somewhat weaker for sure, so I'm going to have to be really vigilant Saturday. I hate people. Oblivious fat people most of all.

Running 53:14 [3] 6.4 mi (8:19 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice long. Didn't take long for it to get back to shirtless weather. Quite mild and soupy. Overall, pretty solid. Just focusing on moving efficiently and keeping the effort in check ahead of Hell's Hills.

Running 47:37 [3] 5.8 mi (8:13 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice short. Solid way to end a solid month. The left knee was tweaky for the first few minutes, but as usual it chills out once I'm warmed up. Otherwise, felt pretty good throughout.

Walking 1:01:30 [3] 4.0 mi (15:23 / mi)

Memorial walk. Dropped Becs at the Art Fest and decided to have a walk while I was at it. Very nice morning. Super busy at the park.
