Running 1:41:06 [3] 10.0 mi (10:07 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow2 Blue

Sabine out and back with Chris. Night and day weather wise from yesterday - the heat index was nearly 20 degrees less as a bit of cooler "Polar Vortex" air slipped into the area. Made for a pretty comfortable run overall. Legs felt good and motor felt fine. We did a fair bit of walking (hence the slowish overall pace), but the running was at an honest clip.

Running 55:07 [3] 5.9 mi (9:21 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice short. Dear John Kirby Allen and Augustus Chapman Allen: Fuck you. Seriously, how could you for a minute believe that human beings were supposed to live in this place? Fucking con men. Horrid run. When I did the pre-run check of Accuweather, it showed an ambient temperature of 81 with a staggering 89% humidity. Worst of all, the wind was "calm." So, before I even stepped out the door, I knew it wouldn't be pretty. But nothing could prepare me for the reality that awaited. Hellish. Sweating profusely barely a mile into it. After 3 miles, I basically said "fuck it" and started walking a fair amount. Not worth the almost certain heat exhaustion that would result from trying to push through it.

Running 1:05:12 [3] 7.5 mi (8:42 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow2 Blue

Braes long + H-R long. This one went a bit better than expected. Managed to stay within myself pretty much the entire run, with a particularly smooth, relaxed stretch around Rice.

Running 49:05 [3] 5.9 mi (8:19 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow 2 DayGlo

Hermann-Rice short. Trying to get back to a little speed play once a week. Very unstructured half-dozen or so pick ups around Rice. Super humid, breezeless morning left me feeling fairly wasted by the end.

Running 1:01:38 [3] 7.1 mi (8:41 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow2 Blue

Braes + H-R long. All about keeping it steady and sustainable in this heat. Definitely not quick, but pretty solid overall.

Running 54:57 [3] 6.5 mi (8:27 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow2 Blue

Hermann-Rice long. According to Accuweather, it was 81 degrees with a heat index of 89 . . . at 5:30 a.m. Welcome to mid-July. Took a couple miles for everything to open up, but it turned out to be a reasonably decent run once things did.
