Running 6:48:37 [3] 25.0 mi (16:21 / mi)
shoes: Altra Lone Peak 2

Cactus Rose Relay. Not that it matters much, but I lost a solid 15 minutes standing in the bathroom line at Equestrian and later de-shoeing 3 separate times looking for a non-existent piece of grit in my right shoe/sock. The first hour saw a fair bit of conga-line slowness. I didn't bother to pass very much because . . . who cares. The next couple of hours were some solid, comfortable running. By the fourth hour, it was getting warm, and the pace slowed, but it wasn't altogether unpleasant as I got to spend some time chatting with Kim, Les, and Robert K. By the 5 hour mark, it was HOT and I was sliding into a rough patch - low energy, slightly woozy, and just ready to be done with it. The end eventually came, as it always does. Definitely got my money's worth.

Running 36:04 [3] 4.5 mi (8:01 / mi)
shoes: Brooks PureFlow3

Hermann. Kept it short but at an honest pace. Hip wasn't an issue & things generally felt pretty good. Next two days are off with some gentle ROM stretching. 25 miles at Hill Country SNA is about the sort of shape I'm in right now, so we'll see what happens come Saturday morning.

Running 47:42 [3] 5.9 mi (8:05 / mi)
shoes: Brooks PureFlow3

Hermann-Rice short. Hip is much better today. Lovely, cool-ish morning helped keep the pace honest.

Running 26:29 [3] 3.1 mi (8:33 / mi)
shoes: Brooks PureFlow3

Hermann/Braes. Test of the hip/glute found things improved but still not close to 100%. So, I decided to keep it really short. A bit of loosening by the end makes me think this will work itself out without any issues. Just need to be ready to go by Sat morning. What happens mileage-wise until then is pretty irrelevant.

Walking 44:13 [3] 2.8 mi (15:48 / mi)
shoes: PureFlow Grey/Green

Hermann. The hip is still somewhat sore from yesterday's fall, so a walk on a nice morning had to do.
