Walking 38:24 [1] 1.65 mi (23:17 / mi)
shoes: Escalante G2

Dog walk.

Running 1:11:58 [1] 6.0 mi (12:00 / mi)
ahr:121 max:134 slept:7.5 shoes: Escalante G2

H/RS. Maybe not quite as dialed in as yesterday, but still pretty good. Some foot pain behind the right big toe became an issue late in the run, as did the heat. Still, not bad.

Running 1:00:07 [1] 5.05 mi (11:54 / mi)
ahr:120 max:133 slept:7.25 shoes: Escalante Grey

H/BL. Another not quite as nasty warm morning. That and the fact that I felt super solid led to one of the better MAF runs in quite some time. It comes in fits and starts, but there's definitely been progress.

Walking 48:38 [1] 2.26 mi (21:31 / mi)
shoes: Escalante B/G

Dog walk.

Running 50:32 [1] 4.2 mi (12:02 / mi)
ahr:120 max:137 slept:7.5 weight:159lbs shoes: Escalante B/G

Hermann. Kept it short after yesterday's longer effort. A front came through (more of a dry front than a cool front) - rare for this time of year. Only knocked about 7-8 degrees off the heat index, but that makes a real difference. Felt good overall and came really close to going under 12:00 / mile. Definitely some slow progress.

Running 1:16:28 [2] 6.65 mi (11:30 / mi)
slept:7.5 shoes: Escalante G2

H/RL. My hatred of this city probably reached it's annual peak this morning. I'm just over the horrific jungle heat, flat urban monotony, auto pollution, depressing homeless park dwellers, etc. The only thing that got me out the door was hitting a round number for monthly mileage. In other words, a stupid, meaningless metric. Left the HRM behind because I knew it was going to just piss me off. Around the Rice portion, 3 x .5 mile followed by 2 x .25 mile, each with 0.05 - 0.1 walk breaks. It was not easy and I was cooked by the end. Cooked in a way I haven't been in quite some time. To think this used to be the norm... July was consistent and the mileage wasn't terrible. Yippee.

Walking 37:50 [1] 1.8 mi (21:01 / mi)
shoes: Escalante G2

Dog walk. Not a pleasant one either.

Monday Jul 30, 2018 #

Running 51:46 [1] 4.2 mi (12:20 / mi)
ahr:121 max:132 slept:7.0 shoes: Escalante B/G

Hermann. Pressed for time this morning, so kept it short. Didn't feel all that relaxed at the start, which was reflected in a slightly elevated HR, but after a mile or so, everything settled into a normal pattern. Hot as everliving fuck.

Sunday Jul 29, 2018 #

Running 1:22:59 [1] 6.8 mi (12:12 / mi)
ahr:121 max:132 slept:7.5 shoes: Escalante Grey

HL/RL. Just horrendous conditions. Mid-summer suck in the extreme. That said, I managed to get around the long loop in ok fashion.

Walking 46:01 [1] 2.25 mi (20:27 / mi)
shoes: Escalante Grey

Dog walk.
