Rogaine 7:00:00 [3] 15.3 km (27:27 / km) +494m 23:38 / km
shoes: new balance

This is the first part of three for my first 24 hour rogaine. My teammate was only Nate, two others pulled out. Start time was 12:00, noon. We started this off at a very fast pace, which I protested, getting to the first control in only 13 minutes. (first control was about 1.3 Km away.) After that we went to a control way on top of a hill which we got lost on and took maybe 45 minutes extra. It was only after we gave up on it that we found it. On the next control I corrected Nate who after getting turned around in a swamp was going up stream instead of down stream. Thankfully no time lost there. On way to the next control I felt really bad. I think it was because I was drinking Gatoraid instead of water and so I got dehydrated. Once at that control we decided to take a short cut plan. The short cut plan was to pretty much go back to the start in a slightly curved line getting a few controls on the way back. On the way to the next control we got lost because of a miss-mapping of the Appalachian Trail and lost another 45 minutes on that control. After that I was too tired and dehydrated to do anything else than go strait back to start. We got back at about 7:00 and ate dinner. The controls we did in order are: start triangle, 21, 45, 70, 61, 85, start triangle.

Distance is strait lines from control to control. Actual distance might be 19 to 23 Km.

This is the second part of the three part 24 hour rogaine with Nate. We went back out at 9:10 after I had got rehydrated. It was now dark so we had our headlamps on. We were planning on going on a short walk so we didn't bring Nates bag so we took turns carrying the my back pack. I was feeling mostly better now so we were able to take less breaks and walk faster. First control was easy and fast, no problems. Next control I messed up and I still don't get how, but Nate took me right to it. Next control was high, high up on a hill top in a clearing with a path going right too it, no problem again. Last control we did that night was also easy. we tried doing some jogging down to this control, but that only made my feet hurt. After finding the control right on top of the hill we went west to the road and all the way back down to the start triangle. We got bock around 1:00.

Actual distance is around 14 to 15 Km

Controls are: start triangle, 60, 25, 33, 44, start triangle.
