Trail riding at MR pines and then those south of Carters Rd. Great condition trails and perfect weather to be riding.

Decided to cut almost 2/3 of the run and start at Redgate Beach. Waited for the four hikers - Andy, Jake, Robin, Gregor to arrive and then Kiersten and I joined them for the nicer part of the path down to Contos Beach.

Big bike ride from Contos, through Boranup with a few loops on the trails there, and then down to Molloy Island.

A long paddle with Robin and Ant on his double and Chris and I on singles. We went out through the river mouth instead of the short cut portage. With a SW wind it was quite a push once in the ocean. Robin and Ant got dumped at the river mouth, I just made it through a breaking wave. Pushed hard to Fraser Park as the rough ocean allowed no rests.

Hike from Fraser Park to the Augusta lighthouse with Kiersten. Saw the construction work on the new harbour/pier - it looks like the Anaconda run will need to be diverted around this. Arrived at 550pm ready for pizza.

The start of Jake's social adventure race at Cape Naturalist light house. Run down to Bunker Bay where we left our ski's on the beach. Teamed up with Kiersten and Gregor, using my car.

Paddle from Bunker Bay to Meelup beach. Calm ocean, little wind. I was the last to enter the water but slowly made ground past Blake, Karen, Leah and then Muzz and Richard until only Jake, Andy, Robin and Chris were ahead.

Rode with Murray and Richard. A little bit of navigating required to find the tracks through a nature area, including pulling out the phone gps to figure out that a road we hit was not Caves Rd.

From Meelup to Smiths Beach. Times and distances are all rough guesses.

Trail run from Smith's to Willyabrup with Gregor until Moses Rock car park at about 12km and then Kiersten for the last 7km. Started out at a good pace and kept going hard until we caught Muzz, Jill and Richard. And then left them on some sandy tracks when we started running and had to keep going for a solid 45mins to catch Robin, Janet and Chris. Dropped down to a hike in the last 1/3 as my energy hit a low patch.

We drove down the first 15km to make time on the others and amazingly found them riding by just as Gregor and I were ready to go. Rode the Cowaramup rail trail down to the pines mountain bike trails. About an hour there - with Muzz, Richard, Gregor. Excellent trails. Found Robin, Ant and a bunch of others afterwards and we spent a bit of time trying to figure out which trail to take west towards the TA. Had Rebekah and Karen come after us in the landrover down a track to say we were on the wrong one, but we all decided to push on. Climbed a few extra hills as a result. Finally made it and I was dead on arrival and called it a day - so Gregor and Kiersten ran the last leg back to the Margaret River mouth and I drove around.

Four reps at threshold pace. 10:52, 11:04, 11:12, 11:58. Soleus muscle on both sides got progressively tighter until I held off the pace at the end. Not sure why, maybe the shoe and hard surface combination. Will see if same happens with the Inov8-233 shoes next. A long session and I'm feeling it now. Shane, Ricky, Andrew and I. Wil still MIA/AWOL.

2nd M21 again. Switched from M40 when I learned that I'd have a chance of winning in case Ricky had an mp or mechanical. :) And there was more competition in the M21. Amongst the non-ricky folk it was quite close - I managed to win 8 splits, Robin 7, Blake 3 and Shanel 1.

Interesting mix of flattish for the first half and then brutally hilly for the second.
