Orienteering race 32:04 [5] *** 2.35 km (13:39 / km) +140m 10:31 / km
spiked:7/11c shoes: VJ Falcons

Sprint A on Ratlum Mtn map. A very physical course (thick woods, lots of climb). Significant errors on three controls with some additional route choice and/or execution errors on other legs. Probably could've been about 5 min faster. Nice course by Charlie. Now all that's needed is an infestation of laurel weevils.

Orienteering race 24:04 [4] *** 2.1 km (11:28 / km) +110m 9:05 / km
spiked:7/7c shoes: VJ Falcons

Sprint B at Ratlum Mtn. A very good run (good enough to be the fastest of the day on the course!). Found all the indistinct trails I was looking for and only got delayed a bit by vegetation on one leg (6-7). Another nice course by Charlie. And the weather was just about perfect - sunny and in the 60's with a breeze to keep the bugs away. And a great BBQ by WCOC. Thanks to Rhonda and Charlie for hosting us.

Note

Thunderstorms started just as I was about to go out to run - ate dinner instead. Bad Glen.

Orienteering race 1:20:38 [4] *** 6.4 km (12:36 / km) +230m 10:41 / km
spiked:11/15c shoes: VJ Falcons

Red course at Paugussett SF (WCOC). Good run on a hot day (80's and sunny). About 5 minutes of errors spread across several controls. Focussed on keeping map contact, especially through the technical areas (of which there were plenty). Biggest errors were due to being distracted by other people - need to work on this. Very nice course by Dave Webber.
