Orienteering race 48:55 [4] *** 6.2 km (7:53 / km) +135m 7:07 / km
spiked:12/13c shoes: VJ Falcons 2

Buffalo O-Fest Classic Distance at Sprague Brook Park. Green-X course. Course was orange/yellow level with lots of trail and road running, a real disappointment since there is plenty of more advanced terrain on the map which could have been used. Made an error in route choice on the leg from 7 to 8 which cost 2 - 2.5 minutes and also lost 10 - 15 seconds on 11 by stopping short (left the road one trail earlier than I thought I did). A cold front had come through overnight so it was in the 40's and breezy - cold at the start but fine for running. 2nd overall on Green-X (2.5 min behind). 1st in M55 but only 19 seconds ahead of Phil, who claims not to be training. :-)

Orienteering race 34:46 [4] *** 3.3 km (10:32 / km) +125m 8:51 / km
spiked:14/16c shoes: VJ Falcons 2

Buffalo O-Fest Middle Distance at Hunter's Creek Park. Green-X course. Good course with lots of short legs in an area with a heavy trail network and plenty of detail. Lost about 2 - 2.5 minutes on #13 when I lost contact and couldn't relocate quickly. Checked another bag on the way to 5 which cost 15 sec or so. 6th overall on Green-X, 2nd on M-55 by 45 sec. Humid with sprinkles and about 70F. Very good organization by BFLO for the entire weekend.

Orienteering race 16:24 [5] *** 2.5 km (6:34 / km) +50m 5:58 / km
spiked:15/16c shoes: VJ Falcons 2

Buffalo O-Fest Sprint at Emery Park. Course 3, M21. Mostly open park running with three of the early controls in the woods. Lost about 30 sec on #3 checking out another (unmapped?) rootstock but otherwise clean. Lots of fast running with the last four controls downhill on a ski slope. Fun course by Dave Cady. Breezy and sprinkles at the start but the possible thunderstorm fortunately didn't happen. Only ahead of 2 M21's and about mid-pack among all the runners on Course 3 (Red and Blue).
