1 PM

Running warm up/down 20:00 [2] 1.5 km (13:20 / km)
shoes: New Balance 875 2

Run/jog up to the start, and then running around a bit while waiting for more maps to arrive

Orienteering race 42:45 [5] **** 4.6 km (9:18 / km) +190m 7:42 / km
ahr:199 max:208 shoes: New Balance 875 2

Macclesfield Forest Middle Race
was a bit too low for the first one, because i hadn't really got into the map or pace yet. The on the way down a steep part of the hill (nearly vertical) i managed to lock my knee and was rolling and falling through the air for quite some distance before i ended up on my back, with pain in my knee and scrapes down my side, much to the suprise of Liz Campbell who was looking for the control at the bottom. After that i slowed down a bit for a few legs, and preceded to mess up the next control by going about 100m too far right, then caught Liz up again about halfway to the end, could have probably taken a minute or so off due to mistakes, and a little bit of time due to running speed after my fall.
4 PM

Orienteering 30:00 [1] **** 2.0 km (15:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance 875 2

Collecting controls, saw the trail i had left from falling down the hill and i am suprised i am not hurt more.
6 PM

Orienteering race 4:22 [5] ** 0.69 km (6:20 / km)
shoes: New balance 760

Heat A, messed up the maze by skipping out 2 and then going back for them

Orienteering race 4:04 [5] ** 0.72 km (5:39 / km)
shoes: New balance 760

Heat B, was cleaner this time and was also running harder, because i knew i had Roger T only 6 seconds behind me from the last heat, in the end i only dropped 2 seconds to him.
7 PM

Orienteering race (Final) 6:25 [5] ** 1.0 km (6:25 / km)
shoes: New balance 760

Managed to qualify 3rd, which meant i was in the mens final with Tom F, Ben C and Roger T. Noticed the first one was off to the left and they realised slower, then after 3 controls, Tom had just got past me, and after that, i was just slowly moving back, then went to the wrong tree in the second gaffled loop and lost more time, but evidently gained time in the maze, because they were more than 30 seconds ahead going in, and i only came out 8 seconds behind Roger. Good race, would have been better if i could keep up though.

Running warm up/down 10:00 [1] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: New Balance 875 2

Running around the car park and grassy area so i wouldn't get shin splints as soon as i started

Orienteering 38:18 [4] 5.0 km (7:40 / km)
shoes: New Balance 875 2

Long Norwegian at Brereton Heath, basically map memory course. Was a very good training excercise to not look at the map at all while running, good for practising planning. came 3rd in the end, Olly was 3 seconds behind me, and i took 6 out of him on the run-in.

Running long 1:26:50 [3] 17.2 km (5:03 / km) +322m 4:37 / km
ahr:184 max:205 shoes: New balance 760

our school let us out at 2:00 so we could 'watch the match' i just went for a ong run instead, as i wouldn't have time otherwise and because of helping at the countryside score i can't run this evening. Was good, checked one of the controls for later in Lyme Park on the way. Definitly sped up since last year and the winter, it took me 1:44 just before christmas.
6 PM

Cycling 15:00 [3] 7.0 km (2:09 / km)

3 PM

Running 1:12:39 [3] 11.5 km (6:19 / km) +400m 5:23 / km
ahr:180 max:206 shoes: New Balance 875 2

Run with my Dad. Felt fine for the first kilometre or so, then i started to get a stitch that only went away by the time we were nearly off the ridge at the end, after we had gone through the chasm at Luds church, we climbed up to the ridge and went to the trig point on the roaches, then back along the ridge and then i started to feel ill, then all the way to the hanging stone, and down through the woods back to Danebridge. I think i must have felt ill because of the large amount of water that i consumed seconds before starting, that may have something to do with the stitch aswell. Could have gone better, and another good day not fully utilised.
