Running warm up/down 50:00 [2] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)
shoes: Inov -8 O-Rocs

Out and back along the road to the dunes.

Orienteering long 2:06:00 [3] **** 15.6 km (8:05 / km)
shoes: Inov -8 O-Rocs

Planned a long course starting on the north end of Birkdale, through Ainsdale and all the way down to the south of Formby, in the end only managed to get 3/4 of the way down Ainsdale, as I had to get back to the car park to get home. Good navigation practice and only had a few small mistakes, the largest of which could have been avoided by taking a compass.

Running warm up/down 20:00 [1] 2.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Inov -8 O-Rocs

Out to the start with Angus and Will

Orienteering race 51:18 [4] ***** 6.3 km (8:09 / km) +255m 6:46 / km
shoes: Inov -8 O-Rocs

MEssed up 3,5 and 7, but only lost serious time on 7, while 3 and 5 were hestiation and not being confident of exactly where I was on the map. On 7 I got to the path and saw a saddle in the hill opposite me, so i worked out which one I thought it was and then navigated from there to the control, completely missing the warning sign of the stream that was in the next re-entrant over, and lost about 5 mins by running down this re-entrant and back up to the ride that led almost directly to the control. Without this mistake I could have been up with Lewis and Joe. Ended up 7th.
