Note
(sick)

Ate a lot of dessert today.
Rice pudding after lunch, ice cream mid afternoon, and apple crumble & custard after tea. Tough day. Should probably mention the chocolate brownie I had pre-lunch in Muckross too.

Another quiet day. Forced myself to do some reading for my project.
Had volunteered my services for the 3 Climbs cycle today since I wasn't able to cycle, but no call last night meant I had a lie in.

Lazy day on the couch watching telly.

Note
(sick)

Alarm went off at work time, sat up and decided that I needed more time to recover.

Rest of the day was spent being lazy after dealing with Mary now being sick too. Think she might have been jealous of me being ill.

Note
(sick)

Decided to stay at home for the day. Not feeling good. Went to the doctor in the afternoon, got a precautionary prescription to get if things got worse, virus the issue. So rest needed.

Note
(rest day)

Feeling tired today but just that. No new niggles.

What is of concern though is that I am not feeling fantastic, reckon chest is in trouble. Will give it tonight and reassess tomorrow. Voice is affected by throat too! Definitely hoarse. But better to be feeling like this after rather than before a champs.

IOC 2017 - Relays
Doire Iochtar

1st Leg with boyzone out 2nd and Magic on 3rd leg.

Got a bit worried on the way to 1, no one seemed to be climbing with me, but was confident in where I was going! Then on the long leg to 2 it seemed like i'd got the lead, so tried to run hard to extend it. Got 3 and 4 grand but made a balls of 5. Lost my lead here, c.hill arrived just as I hit it and I could see kev coming too.

Fast down the hill to 6 with kev going right. That got him ahead of me but caught him back up at 7 and just went right on by. Wasn't really keeping track of who was going where, was just focused on my own race. Had seen 10 earlier so not an issue. Then fast down the hill again to 11. Knew I was back in front and had a small gap.

Hit the road to 12 and tried to keep the pace up. Left ankle didn't seem to like the road so much. Then out into the open, getting 14 which was easy. Running was tough across to 15 which included the start of the climb to the spectator control. Back down then to the last control and the final push to the changeover.

Pleased enough with my pace but time lost on 5 should have been avoided. Still gave boyzone a gap.

Magic lost some time to Conor on the last leg but CorkO are champions again :-)

Good way to finish off the weekend. IOC 2017 in Galway was great.

Note

Tired on the drive home but ice cream stop helped break the journey. Legs just tired this evening, not sore, so that's a positive. Throat is very sore though, I'm blaming it not been fully recovered after thursday/Friday and then one or two encouraging cheers at the relay possibly had an impact.

Hadn't any real expectations for the weekend, so results were actually a surprise to me. Maybe my middle race in Spain had a hint of some potential but other races there didn't, which meant I didn't really have much to go on in terms of what I wanted to achieve. Not sure what's next on the orienteering agenda though.

Monday - Orienteering
Tuesday - Rest
Wednesday - bike
Thursday - Bike (maybe league race if it starts this week) or maybe rest, 2 fillings on the morning agenda
Friday - Run
Saturday -
Sunday -

Will formulate weekend plan later in the week.
