Note

Intervals, after mapping, on dirt roads in the SE section of the national forest (east of town). Every time I run back there--and this was the first time this year--I am reminded that the terrain in the SE corner is flat out amazing. The analogy that always springs to mind is that this world class terrain is basically the 1985 WOC Classic terrain, switching out eucalyptus and kangaroos for pine trees and cattle. Maybe one day lidar will at last arrive...

Note

Biked some around town and then went out for an easy run. But maybe too easy in the end--I had to invert the usual units of measurement to hours/mile. At one point I looked down, and noticed a tick was headed in the same direction I was going. It became quite a race, and the thing was the tick had a 5" head start.
