Note

To do -
  1. Get fit again

  2. Choose route choices based on how quick they will be not how interesting

  3. Don't be lazy

Orienteering race (JK Day 3 Craig a Barns) 2:15:01 [3] *** 10.39 km (13:00 / km) +590m 10:07 / km
spiked:19/22c shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

∆-5 (15:55)
A bit slow to 1 and 2 but no problem. 3 did a 90 degree error but corrected it so maybe >30s lost. 4 took it steady. 5 I loved so much...
6 (22:07)
I decided to go to the path to get to 6 (though now I realise that decision was based on the fact it would be more fun navigating NE from 5 through the crags...) The first half was fun but soon after getting to the track I had very little energy. After that I again I took a more interesting route instead of sticking to the path which would have ben faster.
7-12 (31:56)
7 I went through the fallen trees for some reason, then it was in the wrong place. The rest of the ctrls were slow as I had very little energy.
13-21 (102:44)
Hit the wall. I have only done this once before but this time it was quite bad. I felt like I was going to faint and went by the first aid point. There was nothing of use there so I just carried on (all the ctrls were on the way back). I walked all the way.

So yeah. I am terribly unfit atm.
Oh god

Running warm up/down 30:00 [2] 3.0 km (10:00 / km) +190m 7:36 / km

Orienteering race (JK Day 2 Dunalastair) 55:21 intensity: (24:47 @2) + (7:32 @3) + (18:49 @4) + (4:13 @5) *** 5.2 km (10:39 / km) +230m 8:43 / km
spiked:11/21c (injured) (sick) shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

I think I can partly blame my earlier mistakes on the vegetation mapping which I was using to navigate, though I should have used a compass as a back up.
Route

Running warm up/down 40:00 [2] 3.0 km (13:20 / km) +50m 12:18 / km

Event: JK 2012

11 AM

Sprint/Urban Orienteering race (JK Sprint) 19:14 intensity: (12:14 @3) + (7:00 @4) *** 4.11 km (4:41 / km) +60m 4:22 / km
spiked:22/27c shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5

My main problem in this race was getting up to speed, which I could not do. I kept catching up with Matt P (to about 15s behind) and then loosing him again because he sped up. Partly fitness and partly not having any faith in my shoes on the slippy pavement/grass.
I lost 15-20s on 5, 2s on 9 and ~10s on both 22 and 23. So quite a bit on a sprint.

Still not 100% from last weekend and I now have a cold...
Route

Running warm up/down 10:00 [2] 1.0 km (10:00 / km)
shoes: Brooks CASCADIA 5
