Easy long run with James along the Thames path but with a bisector extension at the start. Nice loop, and made 23k feel pretty darn easy.

A very short run. Doing the session with OUCCC this afternoon and it is at 13h00 so wasn't sure how to work a double in and in the end decided just a short shakeout would do the job.
Sole of my foot still a little noticeable so need to get more pro-active on that one.

5x split 5mins [3min jog] at EH with OUCCC

Each 5mins was split into 30” @ 3-5k / 4min @ 10k / 30” @ 1500m.
So a bit of an interesting one with a mini sprint at the start and end of each 5min rep, but I enjoyed it. Was out the back of the group on the first rep, and probably went a little too quick trying to keep up, but settled in as it went on and some others came back to me. Ran the last 3 in a group of 4 with Bundred, Felix & Jirka. Seemed like a positive session in terms of shape. Delighted to be back in group sessions, think this will make a world of difference.

Solo long one from Edale. Lost Euan to walking with the other 2, so I headed off myself on a route I'd planned out. Worked out lovely. Better conditions than yesterday, more in the hills, quieter trails. Just very enjoyable all round. I have been desperately craving some hills the last couple of months, and this really felt like a pleasant return. Hit some tired patches out there (probably not helped by the previous evening's alcohol consumption), but mostly was fine and felt pretty good right to the end.
Even had a small stretch of tricky nav to try and find the Kinder scout summit which was just a couple of stones on the ground in the middle of turf cuttings which added to the whole day out. Great stuff.
Barely noticed the sole of my foot.

Nice long one around Ladybower reservoir with Euan. Up past Derewent Edge and along lovely runnable trails. We started off in pretty solid weather, but as we got further along the first ridge and into the bogs of the featherbeds it turned pretty quickly. I actually got quite badly stuck in one bog and as I tried to remove one leg, the other one would just sink instead. After eventually getting out, the snowstorms arrived, and we got pretty battered in the cold for about 20mins until we could get off the ridge. Once down, the snowing continued, but conditions were far more tolerable. My hands were cold having ditched my gloves because they were wet from the bog, but I stole my decent pair back off Euan. We were both feeling it a bit and I was bloody cold so we didn't bother go up the second ridge, the decision made easier given the conditions.
We embarked on the long run back along the reservoir to the car which took an age and slowly drained us, but Euan held up impressively well. I got told the whole plot and lots of details for his upcoming sci-fi novel which really took up quite a lot of the time for this run.
Very glad once back at the car, quick change and then we went and got some chips.
Feeling the sole of my foot a bit in the last hour.

Easy round the bisector & port meadow. A dull ache on the sole of my foot kind of between the heel and the arch. Often feel it a bit if I’ve just rolled out of bed into a run, but usually warms up and goes after a couple km.
persisted a little here but I don’t think it’s too serious, just old age. We’ll see, but I might ignore anyway for a few days at least cos I’ve some long ones planned.

Easy round some local trails & round a reservoir. Good spot for a doubler though not the easiest to follow the trails at all times even with the head torch.
