Adventure Racing race 12:49:00 [4]

FAC champs with PJ and Storm. Great course, fun biking, (and lots of it), beautiful fall colours, and awesome teammates!!
Paddle start - 4am, 4 degrees. - I've learned that overheating is never an issue for me whilst paddling so I started the race "overdressed" including goretex outwear and for the first time wasn't shivering uncontrollably after finishing the paddle. this made a difference in getting the legs going for the trek.
Trek was next, overall we were moving well - Storm's nav was really good other than a few errors that were minor in theory and we recovered fairly well but for various reasons ended up costing us more time that it should've. Knees were aching for the last hour or so.
on to the bike - Fun ATV trails with some slick rock - lots of potential for nav confusion and we certainly had our share. All of the teams had their share of problems. I think most teams had bike issues too with the muddy, wet course and we were no exception with shifting going out the window... We probably could've done a few things quicker but alas that is racing! We forgot to bring our instructions ( my fault) which also played a role in the time lost. Good times overall Accomodations were fantastic including a hot tub and good peeps - thanks to Denise for the hook up. Multi-sport season done for the year!

more gymnastics fun - held back a lot due to this weekends race, so look forward to pushing myself more - it's my brain really holding me back anyway - don't want to get injured!!
