Note

Fairly "strong" afternoon. Showering prep at The Hut and took watch off only to see it fall to the ground having discovered the band had broken. Showered and after towelling down put spare sandals on when strap fastening broke. They are headed for the bin and watch to the drawer. Perhaps time to indulge myself... if I can find a reason.

Event (SL1 Chevalier college) 20:33 [4] ***
spiked:13/16c shoes: Black Asics

Fantastic course set by Serena - NSW Sprint Champs. Great venue, but only downer was that being in Southern Highlands it is damp most of the time and then real damp descended so there were a few mishaps and many near misses on the brick pathways and cement sections, especially those with leaf litter. I did well with flow and was fairly happy particularly as I seem to get faster towards the end. Possibly warming up might help?

Note

And so it begins.... NSW aka Newcastle Shorts Weekend is a goer with informal permissions (ie we need to pay for lodgement of applications) given. Plan is for Belford SF Event 1 and 2 forest short courses Saturday 29 July and Uni of Newcastle Event 3 and 4 intense campus courses Sunday 30 July.
Planners and controllers locked in. It's back!!!!!!!!
9 AM

gym class (Body Sculpt) 45:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks Glycerin

Excellent class! Ankle back to feeling clunky and a little swollen. The step section was getting much closer to the "good old days"... as all present have some good form and Bec could be creative.
EMoM was a mix of cardio and strength, as per Body Sculpt dictate. Used bands for a small section.
Staff doing barre training this afternoon. Am reserving my decision for a while. Still can't get Scott Morison's comments out of my head.

gym class (Body Pump) 1:03:00 [4]
shoes: Brooks Glycerin

Almost every track was a struggle. I must get more sleep.

7 PM

Physio exercises 2:00 [1]

Shorter than usual as I was rudely interrupted by a lightning strike in the next street and i jumped higher than in a long time. Lost power briefly but still pouring. Rain eased, lights back on but no power. Tentatively emerged to check meter box, flicked the switch and power was restored. For about 5 minutes I thought I'd lost every appliance in the house via frying... but then thought logically, and hoped for the best. Still going to be a bit circumspect over this weekend.

Park Series (UFO Final - Eleebana) 24:15 [4] 2.8 km (8:40 / km)
shoes: Black Asics

This felt much better than the result indicated. Better than last week at Raymond Terrace and ankle held up well. Not a lot of route choice available, but oreo did a great job of course planning and making it interesting.

Didn't think this would be hard but in today's temps it was. Moving 3 bookcases worth of very heavy tomes, boxes and boxes of slides and crates of... I'll find out later. Just hope the 3 book shelves magically disappear tomorrow.
