Note

A nearly 200 mph tail wind, courtesy of an energetic jet stream brought us in an hour early (under 7 h from the Midwest). Get a bit of a break before its off to work we go.

Leisurely stroll around Cambridge then out to Grantchester, for a meeting at the Orchard Tea Garden, best known as Rupert Brooke's hangout with the likes of EM Forster and Ludwig Wittgenstein. Arvo tea then onto the Green Man for a pint. Checked out Grantchester Church and Jeffrey Archers abode. Business objective accomplished.

Hoofed it (as in power walk) back to Cambridge before the rain, along Grantchester meadows; filming location for PBS Masterpiece Mystery "Grantchester" and one of Alan Turings running routes (Turing, in addition to his intellectual prowess, was a decent runner with a c.14:40 for 3 miles to his credit)

LR1. Was aiming for about 30 mins at an easy pace (ie one I felt I could maintain for an hour if I had to- but not ready for that yet). Felt good and rounded out at 36 mins.
Getting used to running outside and conditons were pretty good, earlier rain held off, 40F but strong wind coming in off the lake. Anyhow another run in the bag.

Experimenting with home audio recording putting down some songs for the band (a jig in our future!). Amazed at how far plug and play equipment has come since I last dabbled.
Off to the UK tonite for a spot of beer diplomacy- back Wednesday so nice short trip.

S/MR1. Pleasant out, but heavy going underfoot.

Note

Scanned the U.S. champs sprint results out of interest. Apart from the somewhat overlong courses (except for Brown) we are woefully slow across the board. Looked like an interesting venue anyhow.
