Hiking 1:00:00 [3]

Hiked up to Brew Lake with Catherine, while Pascal biked in Squamish and Nate, Thomas, Gilles, and Mantas ran the "Semi-Alcoholic traverse". Beautiful, beautiful hike. Saw as many bears as people (2 of each), but neither came close to us. Wild flowers were out... so peaceful!

Running 50:00 [3] 8.0 km (6:15 / km)

Club run with Christine from work. Will have to work out the kms. Good pace around the seawall, just chatting... Nice to actually run for a change, although I really want to get back on the trails. Seawall is too packed in summer. Dinner and catch up with TNip afterwards.

Orienteering 3:15:00 [3]

COC long. Got my moneys worth out of this race! Once I figured out the contour interval and got used to the 1:15000 scale, it was fun! Good points were the 3 or so controls that I spiked. So satisfying! Also my fitness allowed me to run the last 2-3 controls, despite the length of time I'd been out and the fact my stomach was rumbling.... Bad points were that it took me waaay too long to get into the map. Need to work on my terrain running too. Who wants to organize some training on this map?!

Orienteering 18:12 [3]

Sprint in Whistler! Goal was top 10. Came 14th. Was super happy with my race though. Coach Thomas warmed up with me and gave me some great tips. I had good focus, planned ahead for every control, and was able to run well. Couple of mistakes that cost me around 1 minute. More speed work and just more practice...

Orienteering 39:00 [3]

HPP fundraiser on the mountain. Little slow and all over the place. Got more into the map and a rhythm in the second half. Thought I'd be well over my guess, but was 2 minutes off my 37 minute guess. Fun course, great map! Up to the peak with some GVOC folks afterwards for tourist photos!

Orienteering 1:18:05 [3]

COC middle at One Duck. Took it at walking speed, since my goal was to not get too lost. Few bobbles, but generally managed to stay in contact. Had a hard time in places figuring out what rocks were mapped...fun area!
