What a blinder to start the carnival. I have not really ever been so happy about a race than i felt about this one. Finished in 7th place. Felt pretty strong despite the heat. Navigated almost perfectly between the controls and enjoyed the pace. At this point i would've said i was going to ace this carnival despite Juffy beating me by 56" i figured he must be tired for the rest of the carnival after that.

Just call me Steven Bradbury. I was looking at getting a 4th place (last in the course) after John, Simon and Ruhi had also entered it. However there was a "tragic" mix-up with maps at the start and John and Ruhi took a course 2 map. Sweet i thought second place behind Simon. Quite happy with that prospect. It wasn't until i had finished my run (about 35min behind Simon) that Simon let slip that he actually DNF'd since he lost his SI card and wasn't able to prove he'd finsihed his course. Robin Reinstated his result thinking that it wouldn't affect anything, so in protest i made sure Simon was DNF'd again. Hence meaning i won the course and scored 1000 OY points for the season. YAY for me. I don't feel at all guilty or remorseful by winning by default. And before you say that i cam last also, let me ask you this: "Did Steven Bradbury get a gold medal for coming first or last?" It doesn't matter, he got a gold medal. So did i (metaphorically speaking since orienteering is too stingy to reward wins with medals).
As for the orienteering, i was a little messy, stuffing up the 2nd control in a big way (in the circle) and choosing a few sub-optimal route choices. I had no problem in the areas i considered problems before (the rocks south of the road). In general i had a great time. I was feeling pretty weary by the end.
