Rogaine race 2:45:00 [3] 12.71 km (12:59 / km) +680m 10:15 / km

The Battle for Bartagunyah - Roving 12hr
7:50 AM. Melrose. Burned 789 calories.

The next day we took off at a reasonable hour at about 08:00 and did a nice little loop with good profits W and NW of the HH. The navigation was easy today and the wind was violently from the west. We did our best to stick to the ridges or the roads and finsihed with about 45min left on our 12 hours. We ended up winning with 1400pts and apparently the team we beat were marathon runners. Pretty stoked, especially for the $120 gift voucher for linebreak compression gear!

Rogaine race 8:32:00 [3] 35.75 km (14:19 / km) +900m 12:43 / km

The Battle for Bartagunyah - Roving 12hr
12:00 PM. Melrose. Burned 2219 calories.

My first roving 12 hour and first 12 hour with Fern. I was really quite worried about this Rogaine since there was a Tornado (yes Tornado) warning out and the weather was looking very dicy. We started anyway and made pretty good time. The hills were steep and the sheep plentiful and increasing in numbers as we went around the course (it is lambing season and there quite a few sheep giving birth or just given birth). The navigation was reasonably easy and th terrain easy to read for the majority until dark. 91 was quite a spectacular view except then we decended into the gully to the south (which Fern had visted on a previous rogaine) this gully was memorable to Fern because it was so CRAP. Pity she didn't remember that until we were in it :P Night fell with about a third of our loop to go ~24 km mark and navigation was goign to become hard. Luckily we kept it together and didn't struggle too much with finding the controls. We decided to drop one control on this plan as we were behind our planned time and feeling pretty tired. So we got back to the HH at 20:32 and had a good nights rest (amongst the wind and the rain) until the second loop!

Easy Loop
6:35 PM. Belair NP. Burned 557 calories.

Easy loop up tp the Pony Ridge Road Gate and back down past Government House. It seemed particularly fast tonight. Bridget and I got left behind. Then bridget poked me and accused me of wearing a girdle.......
Actually she complimented me on my current stature and i put in her head it was because i was wearing a girdle. I wasn't wearing a girdle.

The ol' 30s on 60s off routine around North Adelaide. It wasn't as tough as i thought it would be and i kind of enjoyed it. It used to take us 20 intervals to get around this loop, now it is only 16. We must be improving.
