run 1:12:34 [2] 13.64 km (5:19 / km) +364m 4:42 / km

Morning run, already hot & humid out. First went over S. Mountain to drop a Star Village map for Erika, Swedish girl here for her 5th summer. Then a lap on the Goodman Fields. There was a big lacrosse tournament going on. Before heading back over the mountain I intentionally asked some dudes setting up a drinks and snacks station if they knew where there was a water fountain - they offered me a cup of water and even a bottle for the road ;)
Felt exhausted going back up the hill, met another runner who said: "Alright! Looking strong!" He was lying.

Note

Long day after a late night Friday picking up poor Anne-Louise at Newark, her flight was delayed about 7hrs. Funeral, shopping (while Anne-Louise's luggage was in Detroit), Swedish-American midsummer party at my ex-hostfamily's, burrito dinner on Grammy's porch and a walk down to the Bethlehem Steel "stacks" where there was a Latin festival =)

Hot & humid morning, but not too bad in the woods. Mike dropped me off by the tv-station and I headed out on the Red course that is on the Star Village map I have. So cool to have an orienteering map over this place. Lived 1 year in a Saucon Valley neighborhood (a 5 min run from S. Mountain) without ever going on these trails scared off by the "NO TRESPASSING" signs.

Passed right by the Bethlehem star on my way to 1 & 2. Spent a little too long making sure I was at the correct site for the controls in some places. And then took forever trying to find 14, sigh! I must have been pretty close just couldn't get it to make sense. Gave up but then decided to attack it again, stubborn.. didn't find it. Happy to find a water fountain by the pavilion before running back.

Around Maltby lakes. Wow the goslings have grown (if it was the same ones as last time) about 4x bigger. Also saw the black squirrel.

trail run 1:10:46 [2] 11.16 km (6:20 / km) +213m 5:47 / km

Beautiful evening run with Mike at West Rock. The gushing stream, honeysuckles, watching the sun set running along the ridge, Lake Wintergreen and all the blooming mountain laurel alongside the windy trail back.
Legs and ribs still a bit sore but felt good to loosen up at an easy pace.
