Mike had planned a route for us and it was warm enough for a bike ride. Up West Rock all the way along the ridge and down the old north entrance road which was blocked off with multiple barricades.
Worked up a sweat and had to stop and change into a dry shirt as it got cold in the wind when we came down from the rock. Then we found some roads and cut over to Sleeping Giant (with some help from the iPhone).
Random: In the evening we went out to dinner with Jesse & Katy at one of their neighborhood restaurants in Hamden and the waitress started talking about that she grew up on a farm right next to West Rock.. long before the area was as developed as it is now. She then told us about that there used to be a north entrance to the park but they closed it off because some people got murdered in West Rock and they wanted to limit the access.

The steep hike up the head of Sleeping Giant. Both of us got out of breath, pretty tough after the bike ride. Can't believe all the people we met going down the blue trail, it just can't be fun.
Oh we did pass one couple walking the "right way", he was holding her hand and they were moving very slowly. She was wearing high heeled leather boots(!)

And home via the Rail Trail with a quick stop for half a bagel and half a cookie at Bruegger's.
I was on a mountainbike which was good for the rough road on top of West Rock but I was working hard to keep up with Mike on the uphills and smooth roads. Almost made it home before dark.
