Nice looong ride with Mike (not long enough for him). Perfect weather, some sprinkles but the roads never got wet. It's so beautiful up there! Rolling hills, my legs got tired.

Mike planned the route and he wanted to take me to Salmon River, he's talked about this place for years - they used to go there a lot when he was a kid.. but he didn't quite remember how to get there.. he thought it would be a mile or two passed East Haddam. We got to an intersection with signs for Hurd SP and thought we'd gotten too far (looking at the map afterwards we should have continued a bit further, it must be Machimoodus SP while Mike remembers Mt Tom). Anyway we got to see some cool places along Johnsonville Rd and we did find the Salmon River Boat Launch..

On the way back: Gillette Castle, the ferry across CT river and lunch at Simon's Marketplace in Chester.

Run in the north end of West Rock. Happy to see a turtle by the greenhouse on the way back, I shouted "turtle!" to it and it pulled its head in =)
Then met up with Becky in the parking lot by Lake Wintergreen, we had trouble coordinating our runs this week..
