Warm up. This was an afternoon event and I had registered late so I started first, at 12:37. We had a nice morning at home, had breakfast outside in the sun. I was not prepared for the cold front that hit inland right when I was about to start.

In short sleeve nylon I headed out on my course as it started dime size hailing / sleeting and there was thunder. Nobody else in the woods. At some controls I had to scrape off a layer of sleet to be able to read the number.
I think it was the most extreme conditions I've ever orienteered in, partly while I was so unprepared for it.
Fun course but I couldn't really enjoy it. After about half the course I couldn't feel my hands and feet, couldn't set the compass.
Had a hard time warming up after my race and the showers were cold. But then the weather turned nice and sunny again so most people got to start out dry..
