phew! finished abysmal almost at the end of the ranking due to a massive 25minute error on #6, but other than that had a good run, would have finished a few minutes ahead of patrick without, but thats the thing, you need to get em all right, not just 22 of 23... in all honesty #6 was massively difficult and several people including eric bone messed it up, just not in the double digit number...
started off great, focused and made no mistakes until #5, ran well and kept looking ahead... at 5 i took my time to decide the best route, it was a massive leg across the whole map ... chose the right route but after cirumnavigating the biggest hill sidetracked off and got too much W, once in the control region (I was hundreds of meters off), I went even more left and ended up almost one kilometer away from teh CP until i realized it, it was a combination of inability to see any features and stupidity of not measuring distances... ended up overshooting a second time once i got back as the CP was on a narrow ridge on a massive sidehill and in bushes, so i ran all the way to the top watercontrol to get some water and then shot a bearing directly to the control.... did well in all but one more CP where i got into a gully where i could not get out of (too steep) so i was stuck walking hundreds of uphill feet in an overgrown gully, probably got poison oak all over me, yeehaw! finished 55min behind the elite, 30 minutes behind would have been possible which happens on a good day... overall it was really a great meet, technically very difficult but i do feel like i am getting slowly better at this, and i take the harder, directer routes now, which makes me mess up sometimes, no biggie
