o-race race 1:13:36 [3] 9.29 km (7:55 / km) +64m 7:40 / km
ahr:165 max:188

Finished off the camp with a race. I was feeling tired and trying to not let the sun get to me. I had to keep re-focusing myself when my mind would wonder. The course went pretty smoothly, a few times I wandered off my route a little but wasn't lost.

o-training 54:53 [1] 5.39 km (10:11 / km) +156m 8:54 / km
ahr:152 max:190

I was taking it easy during this training, it was hot and my body felt heavy. The training went fairly well but most of the control locations we used from last weeks meet.

o-training 15:59 [2] 2.17 km (7:22 / km)
ahr:152 max:169

The first training was line-o's to the controls. Wasn't too challenging because you could look up and see all the features.

o-training 20:45 [2] 2.64 km (7:52 / km)
ahr:162 max:174

Second training was long legs. Saw a moose on the way to two, luckily the terrain was so open that I could see her from pretty far away. I was trying to read contours instead of using handrails for the long legs and went quite well.

o-training 16:12 [2] 1.98 km (8:11 / km)
ahr:152 max:178

Last training was a corridor-O, I stay in the corridor and found the controls.

o-training 1:44:24 [1] 9.78 km (10:40 / km)
ahr:147 max:179

This training had 5 trainings in one. A warm-up loop, long legs with trails removed, directional change loop, line-o and control picking at the end. went pretty smoothly but had a few errors. Pia and I actually went back out and walked the control pick training to redo the sections we had trouble with.

biking 2:14:18 [1] 21.12 km (6:22 / km) +448m 5:45 / km
ahr:140 max:172

Went for a Mountain bike ride today. Road some new trails neither of us have been on before. Sweated a lot, it was only +18 but the sun was strong. Legs were pretty dead at the end.

o-training 1:02:09 [1] 7.43 km (8:22 / km) +219m 7:17 / km
ahr:150 max:189

Not sure how accurate the distance, climb and heart rate are because the GPS didn't kick in until 2.5km into the training. The training was a long trail run with controls just off the trails. I felt sluggish, slow and had trouble pushing up the hills.

run hills 41:20 [3] 6.06 km (6:49 / km) +113m 6:14 / km
ahr:140 max:168

It's so nice when Strava tells you that this run was easier than your usual effort because it didn't feel that way! Also had to slow down on the down because Nala injured herself. She ripped a dime size hole in her paw.

o-race race 15:15 [4] 2.94 km (5:11 / km) +26m 4:58 / km

Legs were tired and heavy after the hill run this morning. The course was fun and smooth.

biking 1:16:52 [2] 27.94 km (2:45 / km) +205m 2:39 / km
ahr:153 max:173

Just a bit of a headwind tonight and the group drafted off me the whole ride. It's was good training for the bike relay

o-training 1:17:00 [3] 5.59 km (13:46 / km) +229m 11:26 / km
ahr:146 max:184

This training was a little difficult to move quickly through the forest with all the green, and cliffs. Had lots of climb which did not feel great at first because of how tired my legs are from previous days. Tonight was a regular course but all the trails were removed from the map. Was the smoothest orienteering for the first few controls but then got into it after that. Managed to hit some compass barrings right on which I was pretty proud of.

run warm up/down 17:30 [0] 2.91 km (6:01 / km)

warm up and cool down for sprint race.

o-race 15:50 [4] 3.0 km (5:17 / km) +19m 5:07 / km
ahr:166 max:187

Race #4 of the sprint series. Just a lot tired from yesterdays hill climbs. Enjoyed the map a lot there was some route choice which is not always the case with Sprint orienteering in the Yukon. Had to slow down or stop a few times to punch controls due to families around the controls. Was definitely feeling tired during the second loop but tried to push through it.

o-race 1:11:11 [4] 7.48 km (9:31 / km) +215m 8:19 / km
ahr:161 max:185

So the race started out perfectly fine, smooth sailing but then the dreaded control number 5! I had a good route but I had to alter it because I ran into a dad and son biking and they were going slow on some parts and fast on others that I cut into the forest earlier than planned. That is when the race went downhill! I finally found 5 after relocating and got super annoyed because I went back to this depression that I had passed saying it doesn't match and it was the one! I tried to move on and get in the right mindset but that didn't happen for the next two controls. I bobbled around and found them. The last few controls weren't a problem.

run hills 51:27 [3] 7.62 km (6:45 / km) +179m 6:03 / km
ahr:151 max:174

I thought I wouldn't be able to do this run with how drained I felt during the sprint race last night. The beginning of the run was not fun but after I got warmed up it got better.

Thursday May 2, 2019 #

o-race 16:11 [3] 2.92 km (5:33 / km)
ahr:118 max:138

I don't know why my heart rate registered so low because it didn't feel slow during the race! The sprint was fun and smooth I just had no push in me, I felt like I was struggling and running on empty the whole time.

biking 58:16 [1] 12.4 km (4:42 / km) +166m 4:24 / km
ahr:142 max:168

Stomach is still feeling uneasy so I thought a bike ride would be a bit smoother. It went pretty well, my legs are recovery still from the races this past weekend.
