North Bend Triple Challenge

An annual event that my friend Martin puts on around his birthday. And I freaking did it! No problems with my hip at all - so crazy. And in spite of posting some Strava PRs it was not a death march and my energy level throughout was really good. I fueled well and paced well. Nice!

My actual max HR was 146. This loop is starting to feel good and my pace is definitely faster than a few weeks ago.

I could barely feel my left hip today, surprisingly it was while climbing where it usually never bothers me. But I felt fine after the run.

Cascade Bicycle Club Flying Wheels Summer Century

Je-sus! Rode with John Phillips (ex-racer) who is always game and we encountered some very gung-ho triathletes. Damn they were hauling ass, especially a couple of guys who were in their mid 20s. :( Hilarious to hear them chat as we're doing 27 mph, one of them said to the other, "Did you get your swim in this morning?" Fuck me.

But experience prevailed! We drafted, almost got dropped (at least twice) but in the end they slowed down on the hills and we finished ahead of them.

I think I went through 6 large bottles in under 6 hours today. And I needed it.
