Cycling 1:39:13 [3] 31.33 mi (3:10 / mi) +1410ft 3:02 / mi
slept:7.0 shoes: Kona Paddy Wagon

South end of Lake WA + Mercer Island on my single speed

I didn't much feel like running so I rode and it felt great to be on a bike! I actually went a bit harder than I had intended to but good times.

At the start my legs were not turning over the pedals very quickly but by the end I was able to hold 23 mph on the flats at times.

Running 1:25:26 [3] 8.59 mi (9:57 / mi) +1647ft 8:25 / mi
ahr:141 max:160 slept:5.0 shoes: Hoka Stinson Evo

Cougar 10 with Edgardo Balansay

I felt pretty beat this morning! Not enough sleeping so I'll work on fixing that stat.

We started mellow (because that is all I could do) and about half way in I felt like I was getting warmed up. I tried to pick it up a little at 20-minute tree but could not do much. At least it felt good running it in. Looks like my max HR was four beats lower than yesterday and that's about how I felt.

I _still_ left my light at home but Edgardo brought his and it was a good thing. Starting now you need one if you want to run at the retarded hour of 5:15.

ahr:143 max:164 slept:5.0 weight:177lbs shoes: Hoka Stinson Evo

Cougar 10 with Todd Morse Tucker

I think this is my second fastest time ever? We started mellow, sped up a tiny bit and this time I had something left when we hit 20-minute tree so slowly twisted the throttle from there. I went a bit too hard early and faded a bit in the last mile but it still felt good. I had my heart rate strap on today and 164 is pushing it pretty good for me in my advanced years.

Yesterday I developed this weird twinge in my left hip, good thing I am getting a massage tonight. WAY past due.

Right now you can just _barely_ get away with no lights at 5:15 AM... it's actually kind of dark. Soon it will be headlamp season (or sleeping in season).
8 AM

Cycling (Commute) 24:48 [2] 5.84 mi (4:15 / mi) +353ft 4:01 / mi
shoes: Raleigh Mojave 8.0

commute to work

Legs feel okay as in better than they did a couple of days ago.
4 PM

Cycling (Commute) 39:01 [2] 8.16 mi (4:47 / mi) +561ft 4:29 / mi
shoes: Raleigh Mojave 8.0

commute home

Just slightly damp out and humid but still warm! This weather is fun.
5 PM

Massage 1:00:00 [0]

massage with Tucker Roy

It's been WAY too long... this guy is good. I feel like I need one/day for the next week but this helped.
7 PM

Stretching 30:00 [0]

Trigger Point clinic at Fleet Feet

My first time using the Trigger Point stuff, more potent than the foam roller! Too potent for me right now but it was good to remind myself that I need this.

Tuesday Aug 13, 2013 #

5 AM

Strengthening 30:00 [2]
slept:6.0 weight:179lbs shoes: Sneakers

usual core routine + push-ups + wobble disk

It felt good to get back in the gym. I had to take the bus to work today so no cycling or running. Just more rest.

Walking 30:08 [1] 1.65 mi (18:13 / mi) +49ft 17:43 / mi
slept:7.0 shoes: Sneakers

walk home from bus stop

I still can't get myself to be active in the AM, feels like another slump in motivation. On the upside it's probably okay at this point as Cascade Crest is in two weeks.

Running 1:08:54 [3] 9.27 mi (7:26 / mi) +92ft 7:22 / mi
slept:7.0 shoes: Hoka Stinson Evo

Lake WA Blvd + Seward Park

Flat like pancake! And turns out it was just what the doctor ordered. I didn't glance at my watch at all and just cruised at whatever speed I felt like. I did try to pick it a bit in the last 2-3 miles and succeeded some.

I had Shelley's iPod Shuffle along and new music is always good.
